Publication number: 20220057979Abstract: An apparatus and methods for a modular entertainment pod are provided for preventing a transfer of airborne droplets and contagious aerosols within a large group of people. Multiple modular entertainment pods may be used to divide the large group of people into smaller groups. The modular entertainment pod provides audio and visual content to a small group of people. Screens supported around a perimeter of a supportive deck portion provide a surrounding display of visual content to the people within the pod. Speakers mounted above the screens provide a surrounding audio experience to the people within the pod. The multiple modular entertainment pods enable the small groups of people to socially distance themselves within the large group of people. The multiple modular entertainment pods may be synchronized to simultaneously present media content to all of the small groups of people.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 19, 2021Publication date: February 24, 2022Applicant: Dune EnterprisesInventors: Andrew Sean Wong, Stephen Joseph Horvath, Maxwell Francis Horvath, Leonardo Pham, Nikolai Neira Garcia

Publication number: 20060217869Abstract: An aircraft engine control system is configured to implement a failsafe shutdown of a jet engine in the highly unlikely occurrence of an overheat event. The system includes an engine controller that includes a processor and an enable circuit. The processor is rated to operate up to a first temperature value, and is configured to perform a periodic computation and, upon completion thereof, to supply an output signal representative of whether the periodic computation is completed successfully or unsuccessfully. The enable circuit is rated to operate up to a second temperature value that is greater than the first temperature value. The enable circuit is coupled to receive the output signal from the processor and is operable, upon receipt thereof, to enable operability of the jet engine control component if the periodic computation is successfully completed, and disable operability of the jet engine control component if the periodic computation is unsuccessfully completed.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 28, 2005Publication date: September 28, 2006Inventors: Joseph Horvath, Kenneth Weir, David Milne

Patent number: 6921131Abstract: A shade apparatus (1) for a child conveyance (2) comprising a support (3) attachable to a side (4) of a child conveyance (2) and a shade member (5) hingedly connected to the support (3). The support (3) includes two mounts (12, 13) comprising hook and loop fasteners for attaching to the side (4) of the conveyance (2). The shade member (5) is movable relative to the support (3) between a retracted position (as seen with the left-hand apparatus (1)) whereby ready access to an occupant of the conveyance (1) is permitted and an operative position (as seen with the right-hand apparatus (1)) whereby the shade member (5) shields a head, torso and upper limbs of the occupant.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 2002Date of Patent: July 26, 2005Inventors: Tibor Joseph Horvath, Tracy Anne Horvath

Publication number: 20040128260Abstract: A method and system for protecting against unauthorized modification of a product to enhance its performance or function are disclosed. Low end products that are part of an electronic product family can be safeguarded against unauthorized enhancement of the product by hardware, software, and firmware bypasses. The operating software of the products can detect the unauthorized modification of the product or input/output device connecting to the product by reading the unique product group ID code and determining the validity of the code. Other background measures including hardware and firmware safeguards can be used to hinder or prevent the unauthorized modification. Other product specific information data can also be used to verify that the product group ID code has not been modified in an attempt to bypass the software safeguard.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 30, 2002Publication date: July 1, 2004Applicant: NOKIA, Inc.Inventors: Jeannie Amedure, Tieliang Cao, Antero Diniz, Chris Hahn, Joseph Horvath, Michael Frechette, Garret White

Patent number: 5846404Abstract: A selenium-containing aqueous stream may be used as a quenching water stream and optionally a cutting water stream in a delayed coking process to effectuate the removal of selenium from the selenium-containing aqueous stream resulting in the formation of a selenium-coke product. In addition, selenium may be concentrated in selenium-containing stripped sour water streams by recycling the stream in one or more hydroprocessing units and one or more sour water stripper units and subsequently removed by using a portion of the selenium-containing stripped sour water stream as a quenching water stream and optionally a cutting water stream in a delayed coking process.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 1994Date of Patent: December 8, 1998Assignee: Shell Oil CompanyInventors: Raymond Tom Fong, John Bernard Rodden, Jack Thomas Veal, Charles Lee Meyer, Michael Norris Treybig, Coley Jerald Williams, Richard Joseph Horvath

Patent number: 4317612Abstract: An astronomical telescope having a polar axle for rotating the telescope about the polar axis at a predetermined speed and having sidereal time indicating means mounted on said axle and a pointer mounted adjacent to said means to indicate the rotational position of said axle with respect to said pointer. A sidereal time compensating device is mounted on the telescope and comprises a motor for rotation with said axle about the polar axis and gear means coupled to the sidereal time indicating means. The motor is engageable with the gear means to cause the gear means to rotate the time indicating means at a predetermined speed but in the opposite rotational direction as the rotation of the polar axle, whereupon the time indicating means remains at a fixed rotational position with respect to the pointer. The motor is arranged to be disabled so that when the gear means are engaged but the motor disabled, the rotation of the polar axle causes the concomitant rotation of the sidereal time indicating means.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 1980Date of Patent: March 2, 1982Inventor: Joseph Horvath

Patent number: 4296571Abstract: A profile grinding apparatus comprising a stationary frame, a template support table and a workpiece support table. The workpiece support table is mounted at a fixed position on the frame. A pantograph and parallelogram assembly is mounted on the frame for horizontal movement in response to the movement of guiding means. A first movable support is mounted on the frame coupled to the pantograph and parallelogram for following movement of the guide means. A second movable support is mounted on the frame below the first movable support means and coupled thereto for movement therewith. A vertically reciprocable grinding assembly is carried between the first and second movable supports to grind a contour on the workpiece mounted on the workpiece table. A shadowgraph is located on the frame at a fixed position adjacent the workpiece table for projecting an image of the profile of the workpiece. The grinding means is also arranged for reciprocation at an acute angle to the vertical axis.Type: GrantFiled: August 16, 1979Date of Patent: October 27, 1981Inventor: Joseph Horvath
