Abstract: A dumbbell sling for transporting a plurality of dumbbells with one hand is provided. The dumbbell sling may provide spaced apart rails. Each rail extends from a top end to a bottom end, wherein each top end provides a handle, and wherein each bottom end provides a pair of elbows interconnecting the opposing bottom ends. The rails may be dimensioned apart to accommodate the handle of dumbbells for sliding there between so to be stacked on the pair of elbows, whereby the use may tote a plurality of dumbbells with a single hand manipulating the top end handles.

Abstract: In one aspect, a method and apparatus for detecting subject matter of interest in view data obtained by scanning an object including generating a filter adapted to respond to the subject matter of interest, splatting the filter onto a portion of the view data to provide a filter splat, and performing at least one operation on the portion of the view data using the filter splat to facilitate determining whether the subject matter of interest is present in the portion of the view data.

Abstract: A generally elliptical cylindrical metal substrate, and a method of construction thereof. A plate mandrel having a generally rectangular cross section is provided, and a first end of a web of metal substrate material is affixed to the plate mandrel. The metal substrate material preferably comprises alternate layers of planar metal foil and corrugated metal foil. As an alternative, a corrugated metal foil may be substituted for the planar foil. The metal substrate material web is wrapped around the mandrel, as by rotation of the mandrel while the web is fed off of a spool, until a substantially uniform thickness of metal substrate surrounding the mandrel is provided, a generally elliptical cylinder being formed. A second end of the web is affixed to a previous wrapping, thus forming a complete elliptical cylindrical metal substrate. The metal substrate is preferably catalyzed and used as a catalytic muffler or the like.
