  • Patent number: 8112382
Abstract: Aspects of the present embodiments provide an eCommerce environment adapted to accept and process various message types (e.g., cXML and mXML). In general, requests are provided from a requesting entity to an application hosting entity. Data from incoming requests are mapped to a format understandable to an appropriate application(s). Responses from the application(s) are then mapped into a response format acceptable by the requesting entity. To this end, embodiments disclosed herein provide processes for the development and execution of a data driven process for mapping multiple request/response message pairs to a single application interface or set of application interfaces. In one embodiment, these processes are driven by development time and run time documents that describe a development time view of the message pairs and the application interfaces as well as runtime instructions for providing the mappings, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20120017115
Abstract: An application control engine computing platform having a shut-down mechanism that permits the platform to adequately start up and operate upon return of power after a power interruption, without a need of a battery pack. The mechanism may target the saving of control object runtime values and operational settings of those objects, rather than the saving of the complete set of objects, and all unsaved alarm and history records upon a power interruption.

  • Patent number: 7890758
Abstract: A global key control mechanism provides a single point of overall control for key generation, but portions of the key generation and/or allocation tasks may be delegated to client computer systems, thereby reducing network traffic. The global key control mechanism may download a client key generation mechanism on one or more client computer systems, and may allocate a block of keys to the client key generation mechanism. Requests for keys may then be routed to the client key generation mechanism, which can generate and/or allocate keys within the block of keys that the global key control mechanism allocated to it. When the block of keys is used up, the client key generation mechanism may request another block from the global key control mechanism. The preferred embodiments also include the capability of downloading a client key generation mechanism with an associated block of keys once the requests from one or more client applications exceed a predetermined threshold.

  • Publication number: 20100299411
Abstract: A network includes a media server and a service activation device. The media server may receive a request for content from a subscriber device and transmit a message. The message may identify the subscriber device and include information relating to the content. The service activation device may receive the message from the media server, identify, in response to receiving the message, bandwidth and quality of service requirements for the content, determine whether resources needed to provide the identified bandwidth and quality of service requirements exist, reserve the resources when the resources needed to provide the identified bandwidth and quality of service requirements exist, and transmit a second message to the media server in response to reserving the resources. The second message may cause the media server to provide the content to the subscriber device.

  • Publication number: 20100251184
Abstract: A system for hierarchical navigation of menus on a screen and particularly from one menu to another menu at the same level of a menu hierarchy. The system may provide side-to-side movement between menu elements to more easily navigate the menu pyramid. It may facilitate access to the details of a list of devices by selecting next and previous devices in the list, without navigating back to the list. The system may provide an operator or user with a simple, convenient method of browsing the details of devices in a list without the need to move back and forth throughout the list. The display may automatically adapt to the disparate properties of each type of device in the list. Also, the displayed details may be unique for a characterization of each device but be rendered in a common format.

  • Publication number: 20100251233
Abstract: A system for standalone usage of an embedded computing system user interface on a separate heterogeneous computing device. The system may run the same binary software image as the embedded computing device on a PC platform. Because it is virtually the same exact software image as that which is on the device, the PC-hosted version effectively has full fidelity with the device version. Its user interface is virtually identical in appearance and has full navigation and a richer subset of functionality than would be possible with a simulator. Also, it is not necessary to maintain separate simulation and device software since both environments may use the same binary image.

  • Publication number: 20100251266
Abstract: A system for constructing embedded display content and navigation where a computing platform is based on one technology and the embedded display content is based on another technology. For instance, the one technology may be NiagaraAX and the other technology may be non-Niagara. The system may, for instance, leverage NiagaraAX Workbench tooling to generate displays rendered in heterogeneous technologies, i.e., non-Niagara, to extend the range and application of user interfaces for Niagara-based technologies.

  • Publication number: 20100251150
Abstract: An approach for defining user interface components within a building control or automation system. The user interface definition may be rendered on a remote display device. The rendering may be accomplished through a making of a set of object types which represent the components of the user interface. The approach or mechanism should have no dependency on either the hardware/software platform of the building control or automation system or the hardware/software platform of the remote display device.

  • Patent number: 7805465
Abstract: A method, system and article of manufacture for managing metadata associated with a data abstraction model abstractly describing data in a database. One embodiment provides a method of managing metadata describing objects of a data abstraction model with logical fields that define abstract views of physical data in a database. The method comprises traversing a logical tree structure representing the data abstraction model. The logical tree structure has a plurality of nodes, each representing a logical field or a category of logical fields of the data abstraction model. The method further comprises identifying metadata describing logical fields or categories represented by the plurality of nodes. The identified metadata is stored in a queryable database. A user is allowed to query the database to identify objects in the data abstraction model that may be used to construct an abstract query.

  • Patent number: 7744039
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling flow with electrical pulses are disclosed. An aircraft system in accordance with one embodiment includes an aerodynamic body having a flow surface exposed to an adjacent air stream, and a flow control assembly that includes a first electrode positioned at least proximate to the flow surface and a second electrode positioned proximate to and spaced apart from the first electrode. A dielectric material can be positioned between the first and second electrodes, and a controller can be coupled to at least one of the electrodes, with the controller programmed with instructions to direct air-ionizing pulses to the electrode, and provide a generally steady-state signal to the electrode during intervals between the pulses.
