  • Patent number: 10939918
Abstract: A clip applier having a handle at a proximal portion, an elongated portion extending distally of the handle, a jaw mechanism including a pair of jaws movable to a closed position to crimp a clip held therein, a clip feeder mechanism movable in proximal and distal directions, a camming mechanism and a puller mechanism movable in proximal and distal directions. The puller mechanism is operatively connected to the handle such that actuation of the handle a) moves the puller mechanism a first distance in the proximal direction; and b) moves the clip feeder mechanism a second distance greater than the first distance.

  • Publication number: 20030135224
Abstract: An instrument for applying clips in surgery having an operating handle with operating components and a removable clip cartridge with clip applying mechanism. The handle operating components generate reciprocal linear motion imparted to the clip applying mechanism and accommodate rotation of the cartridge about a cartridge axis. An anti-backup mechanism constrains operating components to complete first and second strokes of reciprocal linear motion. The clip applying mechanism actuated by received reciprocal motion applies a clip in surgery, isolates the next clip, and prepares for loading the isolated clip into the jaws on a first stroke, and on the second stroke, opens the jaws and pushes the isolated clip into the open jaws.

  • Patent number: 6077233
Abstract: A blood coagulation test system for in vitro assessment of blood characteristics including hemostasis, thrombus formation, thrombolysis, and collagen platelet interaction comprises a test unit for collection, testing and disposal of the sample together with a test analyzer for executing a test protocol. Coagulation functions are evaluated by establishing controlled bleeding of the sample from a bleeding tube within the unit and monitoring these blood characteristics as a function of blood pressure variations occurring in the unit as the test proceeds. The blood sample remains within the unit for testing and after disposal.
