  • Patent number: 11921102
Abstract: An optical imaging system for cell culture monitoring is provided. The system includes an illumination segment having an illumination source and a collimating lens positioned between a first surface of a cell culture vessel and the illumination source. The illumination source and the collimating lens are arranged to transmit light through the first surface at an angle oblique to the first surface of the cell culture vessel. The system also includes a detection segment having a detector and a lens positioned between the first surface of the cell culture vessel and the detector. The lens focuses light to the detector through an aperture stop, and the detector receives light that exits the first surface of the cell culture vessel at an angle oblique to the first surface.

  • Publication number: 20230160686
Abstract: A low-coherence Fizeau interferometer includes a first beamsplitter, a test arm and a reference arm, the first beamsplitter splits light into a first portion of light directed to the test arm and a second portion of light directed to the reference arm, and an imaging arm comprising a first collimating lens, a flat reference surface, and a test element. The test arm focuses the first portion of light at a first focal point, such that a virtual image of the first focal point appears at a focal point of the test element. The reference arm focuses the second portion of light at a second focal point, the first collimating lens collimates the light that then reflects off the flat reference surface. The second beamsplitter directs the first portion of light to reflect off the test element. The reflection of the first and second portion of light form an interference pattern.

  • Publication number: 20230091482
Abstract: Methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses are described. Light output by a light source may be transformed into an annular shape (e.g., a spatial distribution of the light may be modified to have an annular shape) to cure an adhesive material having a similar annular shape. For example, a system may include a light source emitting light (e.g., ultraviolet (UV) light) having an angular distribution and a spatial distribution. An optical system may modify a shape of the spatial distribution into an annular shape, and the light having the annular shape may be focused on an adhesive material to cure the adhesive material. In some examples, the adhesive material may be positioned between an optical element and a structural component, and the focused light in the annular shape may cure the adhesive material while simultaneously avoiding one or more other optical components or structures.

  • Publication number: 20200004013
Abstract: Light homogenizing elements are described. The light homogenizing elements include lens arrays with corrective features designed to improve the uniformity of light fields produced by optical sources. The corrective features include masks placed at selected positions of selected lenslets in a lens array. The corrective features block or reduce the transmission of light through the lens array at the selected position to correct for spatial or angular non-uniformities in a light field produced by an optical source. Illumination systems that include a corrected lens array coupled to a light source produce highly uniform light fields. Applications include microlithography.
