    Abstract: A down light fixture that is suitable for installation on building structures and around lawns and gardens of residential and commercial properties for providing aesthetically pleasing illumination and security illumination. The down light fixture includes a body having a hollow interior and a circuit board mounted in the hollow interior. A transparent cover extends across a lower end of the body. A wire extends through a pivotable mounting device secured to an upper end of the body and through a potting cup to the circuit board for carrying electrical power to a source of illumination. The body is formed with a drain port located so that any water that accumulates in the interior of the body when the body is in a downwardly directed orientation will drain from the body before it can reach an upper end of the potting cup.

    Abstract: A light fixture for use in low voltage outdoor lighting systems includes a lens assembly with a cylindrical diffuser lens disposed on top of a lens support, and a reflector hood with a crown portion and a flared portion. The lens and reflector hood are attached by means of a resilient ring with an annular channel that fits over the upper edge of the lens. When the lens and ring are pushed into crown portion of the hood, the ring is compressed to create an interference fit that holds the lens within the crown portion. A second resilient ring may be placed over the lower edge of the lens to produce a similar interference fit with the upper portion of the lens support. In one embodiment, a molded plastic hood liner is attached to the inner surface of the hood to provide a reflective surface.

An electrical connector extends from the lower surface of the printed circuit board for attachment to an electrical socket within the fixture. A thermal conductor is attached on the lower surface of the printed circuit board. A reflector array comprises one or more individual parabolic reflectors, where each individual reflector is disposed at a position corresponding to a position of an LED element. Fastening means releasably attach each of the printed circuit board, the thermal conductor and the reflector array to a support surface within the interior cavity of the base. At least one optical element is releasably mounted on top of the reflector array.

In a preferred embodiment, the receptacle portion is divided into multiple compartments, e.g., for storing excess cable or spare parts, or for securing connection points of a wiring installation. The transparent window permits visual examination of the connection within the receptacle without removing the transparent window.

    Abstract: The recessed fixture includes a cylindrical housing assembly that encloses a lamp assembly in a watertight enclosure. The lamp assembly includes an attachment base bracket attached to the interior of the housing, and a U-shaped bracket that is rotatably attached to the base bracket. The U-shaped bracket includes attachment means that permit vertical and angular adjustment of the lamp assembly relative to the axial center of the housing. The combination of the pivot points and the ability to rotate the lamp housing about the base bracket provides at least three axes of adjustability to permit variation of the character of light emitted from the fixture. A cover placed over the end of the housing seals a lens to the housing to produce a watertight seal. The cover may include a pattern of ridges and openings to form a baffle to further protect the lens, reduce glare and provide additional directional control of the emitted light.

    Abstract: A light fixture for use in low voltage outdoor lighting systems includes a lens assembly with a diffuser lens disposed on top of a lens support, a reflector hood and a mushroom-shaped reflector retaining cap removably mounted on top of the lens assembly. A socket and lamp extend through an opening in the lens support. The radial center of the hood has a flattened area that sits level on top of the cylindrical lens and has an opening through which a base portion of the retaining cap is inserted. A recess in the top of the lens has an opening at its bottom for receiving the base of the retainer cap which is attached with a fastener inserted through the top of the lens. An O-ring seals the lens to the lower surface of the hood and the lens and lens support are sealed to provide a water-resistant seal around the lamp. The lens support is attached to the top of a mounting post.

The lamp assembly is rotatably and vertically adjustable within the housing and either the angled end or the flat end may be placed upward by virtue of a pair of channels extending down the length of the housing. Fasteners are provided on the lamp assembly for attaching one or more filters above the lamp face and to create a protective air gap that prevents debris from accumulating on the lamp.

    Abstract: A light fixture for use in low voltage outdoor lighting systems that comprises a lens assembly with a reflector, lens and lens support and a socket assembly with a lamp, socket and socket housing, which are mounted on a post. Connection of the lens assembly and socket assembly is provided by the combination of a taper fit and multiple O-rings which provide a frictional fit that is sealed against dirt and moisture intrusion, avoiding metal-to-metal contact. Attachment of the lens assembly to the socket assembly is achieved by pressing the two parts together in an axial direction. Disassembly is achieved by twisting to overcome the friction generated by the O-rings and pulling the two assemblies apart. A locking screw may be used to prevent accidental separation of the lens assembly and socket assembly. The post can be attached to a ground spike for installation.

The collar seals the socket and the inner portions of the cowl from the elements. Further, the collar is coated for protection from the elements.     Abstract: The light fixture mounting has a body with a base releasably attached thereto. The base includes fastening means for attaching the base to the mounting surface. In one embodiment, the fastening means comprises a circular strap retained within a slot or channel formed in the base. The strap has an adjustable diameter which allows the base to be attached to a structure such as a tree trunk or limb by encircling the trunk or limb with the strap, then tightening the strap around the trunk or limb. In a preferred embodiment, the base is configured both with slots for receiving a strap and bores for receiving screws to allow a single base configuration to be used for different mounting situations. Once the base is mounted on the mounting surface, the body is attached to the base by means of a releasable attachment means such as a bayonet mounting or locking screws inserted through the body into the base.

One or more optical elements for modification of the beam emitted from the reflector assembly have an outer diameter adapted to fit within the first inner diameter but smaller than the second inner diameter may be inserted into the shroud between the reflector assembly and the annular ridge.

    Abstract: The transformer assembly comprises a housing with a top portion having a cavity within which a transformer is sealed using a waterproof sealant and a body portion which is generally hollow for supporting the top portion and for providing a pathway for feeding wires into the housing for connection to the transformer. The transformer is mounted on a plate retained within the top portion of the housing. The plate, which has a plurality of holes therethrough, supports at least one circuit breaker and at least one liquid-tight fitting through which wires are passed to connect to the transformer. The at least one circuit breaker is positioned over an opening through the plate allowing access to its reset switch. The at least one circuit breaker is sealed within flexible silicone boots so that both the top and bottom of the circuit breaker are sealed against moisture while still allowing the reset switch to be pressed.

    Abstract: A lighting fixture includes a housing and a reflector assembly in the housing seated in a split, resilient seating ring and retained by a resilient retaining clip. The axial position of a reflector assembly may be adjusted by moving the seating ring axially. The ends of the ring on opposite sides of the split can be squeezed to resiliently disengage the ring from its interference-fit with the housing wall. The user squeezes the ring in this manner while moving it to a desired location in the housing and then releases it. The angular position of the reflector assembly may also be adjusted. The user squeezes the clip to resiliently disengage it from its interference-fit with the housing wall. The user squeezes the clip in this manner while pivoting the reflector assembly. With the ring abutting the reflector, the user then releases the clip to resiliently re-engage the housing wall. The lighting fixture may include a spike for securing the fixture in the ground.
