  • Publication number: 20130240267
Abstract: The present invention regards a method for performing core sampling during drilling of wells, comprising the steps of providing a dual bore drill pipe with drill bit in the end in the well bore, providing means to introduce a drill liquid into an annular space of the drill pipe and return it together with drill cuttings to the surface through centrally arranged return line in the dual bore drill pipe, removing larger cuttings at outlet of return pipe, and perform core testing on these cuttings, knowing where the cuttings come from in the well. The invention also regards a device for performing the invention.

  • Patent number: 8125850
Abstract: A method for identifying position of acoustic source proximate sediments below the bottom of a body of water includes deploying a plurality of arrays of acoustic sensors on the bottom of the body of water. Each array includes a plurality of lines of acoustic sensors disposed in a substantially radial pattern. The arrays have a center to center distance therebetween of about twice a diameter of each of the arrays. Signals are detected from each of the sensors for a selected time period. A direction of the acoustic source with respect to each of the arrays is determined by steering a response of the sensors in each array. A range of the acoustic source is determined using the determined directions.

  • Publication number: 20050065660
Abstract: A method for repairing an oil or gas pipeline without disclosing sensitive technical information to the customer, comprising the steps of providing pre-certified plugs of standard sizes that are pre-manufactured and stored in a storage facility. When a request for a repair operation is received, a plan for executing a repair is formulated and executed by representatives of the plug manufacturer using the pre-manufactured plugs. In order to satisfy the customer's concerns for safety and effectiveness, the technical details of the plan, as well as the actual devices to be utilized in the repair, are examined and certified by an independent Quality Assurance body. However, neither the technical details of the repair plan, nor the technical specifications of the plugs themselves, are transmitted to the customer.
