  • Patent number: 4892351
Abstract: In a sunroof structure having an opening provided in a roof panel of an automobile, a sunroof panel which can move between a first position for closing the opening and a second position for exposing the opening, a sunroof base panel supporting a mechanism for achieving the motion of the sunroof panel, and a water drain trough defined along a peripheral region of the opening, the water drain trough is defined by a trough member having a substantially U-shaped cross section extending along the peripheral region of the opening and resting upon an inner surface of an outer wall of the sunroof base panel and an outer surface of a guide rail for the sunroof panel. Preferably, the trough member consists of an extension of a seal member which is interposed between a lower surface of the roof panel and an upper most edge of the outer wall of the sunroof base panel. Thus, the trough member is not required to be rigid and the assembly work is simplified.

  • Patent number: 4844532
Abstract: A sun-roof apparatus for a vehicle which comprises a sun-roof frame forming a gutter having at least two side portions and at least one raised rear portion at a higher height than the side portions, and interposed between the side portions. The gutter is provided under a roof outer plate having an opening opened and closed by a sun-roof panel. The gutter extends along at least three peripheral edges of the opening. An interior plate is arranged under the raised rear portion of the gutter. The interior plate is raised higher than the two side portions of the gutter and capable of moving between a closed position opposed to the opening and unopened position moved backward to a rear of the opening. A drain conduit is connected to each of the two side portions of the gutter. A connecting passage is arranged under the interior plate, wherein ends of the two side portions of the gutter which are close to one of the raised side portions are connected by a recessed groove.

  • Patent number: 4707020
Abstract: A body structure of a motor vehicle having exterior panels at least one of which is made of synthetic resin is disclosed. The resin panel or panels are each fixed at one side thereof to a rigid member which provides the vehicle body with mechanical strength. Another side of the resin panel which faces the fixed side is retained in a slidable manner. An end portion of the slidable side of the resin panel is offset in the inward-outward direction of the vehicle body relative to an end portion of a nearby exterior panel. In this construction, thermal expansion of the resin panel is effectively accommodated.

  • Patent number: 4609412
Abstract: An Al-killed cold-rolled steel sheet with excellent demagnetization characteristics is provided which is substantially consisted of 0.005% or less C; from 0.05 to 0.50% Mn; 0.010% or less S; from 0.01 to 0.08% Sol.Al; 0.0050% or less N; wherein Mn %/S %.gtoreq.7 and (Sol.Al % - 0.003%)/N %.gtoreq.6; and the remainder iron and inevitable impurities. A shadow mask made of such Al-killed cold-rolled steel sheet and a color television receiver using the same exhibit a very excellent function. A preferred process for producing such an Al-killed cold-rolled steel is also provided, said process being characterized in first obtaining a steel or a specific composition by the use of a vacuum degassing apparatus and then subjecting the steel to sequential steps of hot rolling, cold rolling, decarburization-annealing, and cold rolling.

  • Patent number: 4268085
Abstract: A wind deflector arrangement in a sliding roof for a vehicle which includes a roof opening, the front edge of which is curved forwardly along the upper edge of a front window of the vehicle. A wind deflector is arcuated to conform with a curvature of the upper surface of the roof and with a curvature of the front edge of the roof opening. Arms are pivotally mounted on the inner side edges of the roof opening. The wind deflector is supported at rear ends thereof by the arms, so as to be able to be angular displaced with respect to the arms, through resilient members.
