  • Patent number: 5000004
Abstract: A gas trubine combustor includes a main body with a combustion portion into which mixture of fuel and air is supplied. The gas mixture is burned through a catalytic reaction at a catalyst body arranged in the main body. The gas mixture passed through the catalyst body is introduced into a gas phase combustion portion provided in the main body. Between the catalyst body and the gas phase combustion portion is arranged a dividing unit which has a plurality of branch passages. The gas mixture passed through the catalyst body is divided by the dividing unit into a plurality of gas streams flowing through the branch passages. Each of the gas streams is mixed with fuel supplied from a fuel supply tube.

  • Patent number: 4857499
Abstract: A high temperature combustion catalyst for use in a catalytic combustion type gas turbine combustor and the like, having a superior low temperature ignitionability and a superior thermal durability at a high temperature, which comprises a porous carrier layer, a catalyst component such as palladium and platinum, and first, second and third promoter components, the latter four components being carried on the porous carrier layer, in which the first promoter component includes one of rare earth elements such as lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium and neodymium, alkaline earth metals such as barium, strontium and calcium, and oxides thereof, in which the second promoter component includes magnesium, silicon and oxides thereof, and in which the third promotor component includes one of heavy metals such as nickel, zirconium, cobalt, iron and manganese, and oxides thereof. A method for producing this high temperature combustion catalyst is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4731989
Abstract: A nitrogen oxides decreasing combustion method which comprises; a first step of mixing a fuel and air with each other; a second step of bringing the mixture obtained in the first step, into contact with a packed catalyst so as to cause a portion of the mixture to burn only through a catalytic reaction; and a third step of adding a fresh supply of the fuel to a stream obtained from the second step to form a mixed gas and causing the mixed gas to undergo non-catalytic thermal combustion; the temperature of said packed catalyst being lower than the ignition temperature of the mixture and the adiabatic flame temperature of said mixed gas being lower than a temperature at which the nitrogen oxides occur.

  • Patent number: 4619739
Abstract: A halogen ion concentration in a solution is measured by bringing halogen ion-selective detection means comprising a silver/silver halide electrode, and a reference electrode into a solution whose halogen ion concentration is to be measured, and measuring an electromotive force of the halogen ion-selective detection means in the presence of silver ions dissolved in the solution. The electromotive force corresponds to the halogen ion concentration in the solution.

  • Patent number: 4388166
Abstract: An electrochemical measuring apparatus which essemtially comprises an asymmetric semipermeable membrane mounted on an immobilized enzyme membrane of an enzyme electrode, said asymmetric semipermeable membrane being essentially formed of a thin semipermeable layer exposed to the outside for contact with a liquid to be measured and an inner adjacent thick porous layers, and can measure an organic ingredient such as glucose contained in blood or serum with high sensitivity in a short time and moreover has a prominent durability.
