  • Patent number: 7594827
Abstract: Compatible mechanical and/or electrical connections to video game system accessories provide unique shape, design and dimensions that discourage or prevent non-compatible devices from being connected, connector configurations that allow connection only in a proper orientation to ensure electrical compatibility and eliminate the possibility of short-circuits, quick release locking arrangement firmly mechanically holds mating connectors together despite extensive movement of the game player's arms and hands, staged electrical contacting sequence provides proper signal application sequence, and wrist strap to tether handheld remote controller to hand is attached to a locking connector that mates with a connector of the remote controller.

  • Patent number: 7582015
Abstract: A game system includes: a direction mark storage section which stores image data of a direction mark which directs an operation of a player; a display control section which performs display control of a plurality of display objects including the direction mark; a timing acquisition section which acquires an operation timing; and an evaluation section which compares the acquired operation timing with a reference timing and evaluates the operation of the player. The display control section performs control of displaying the direction mark which directs the player to operate a plurality of operation regions by one mark. When the player operates the plurality of the operation regions of the operation section, the evaluation section evaluates the operation of the player by comparing the operation timing for the plurality of operation regions and the reference timing.

  • Patent number: 7581865
Abstract: A panel light-emitting structure includes a front panel, a light guide plate, a light-emitting portion, a guide, etc. The light guide plate is formed in a transversely elongated shape having a long side and a short side, and includes an elongated hole extending in a direction of the long side. This forms two light transmission areas. A notch is provided outside the elongated hole at the short side section. This enables an incident light from an LED to the light transmission areas. An outer surface of the light guide plate is formed by an R curved surface. Accordingly, almost all of the light from the LED is totally reflected by the outer surface.

  • Publication number: 20090209346
Abstract: A sports video game having a new and improved user interface that substantially increases the potential realism of the game uses a handheld controller that is able to sense its own position, orientation and/or motion and is affixed to a ball. The ball can be a model of a football that is provided with a depression that snugly accepts and retains the handheld controller. The handheld controller may sense motion, position and/or orientation of the ball and provide wireless inputs to a video game system. The video game system may process such inputs to provide a simulated sports action game play on a video display.

  • Publication number: 20090038721
Abstract: A controller cover includes a main body portion attached to an outer surface of a controller, and the main body portion includes a contacted portion where a contacted inner surface is in contact with the outer surface of the controller and a non-contacted portion where a non-contacted inner surface is not in contact with the outer surface of the controller. Elastic deforming protrusions are formed on the non-contacted inner surface. When the controller attached with the cover interferes with other thing, and the non-contacted portion of the cover is subjected to shock, the elastic deforming protrusion of the non-contacted portion is deformed to ease the shock, so that the controller and the interfering other thing are protected.

  • Patent number: 7479064
Abstract: An operating apparatus for game machine includes a depressing member, and a main body of the depressing member is provided with three engaging protrusions and two depressing protrusions that downwardly protrude. For example, the two depressing protrusions are provided between the three engaging protrusions. In response to a beating operation by a player, the right side of the depressing member is depressed, and then, an engaging portion of the engaging protrusion at the left side is engaged with a rear surface of an upper surface panel. Accordingly, the depressing member is sure to be depressed at the right side without being upwardly actuated, and a rubber switch depressed by the depressing protrusion is brought into contact with a board. At this time, a contact provided on the board and a contact provided on the rubber switch are brought into contact with each other, and an operation signal according to the beating operation is output to the game machine.

  • Patent number: 7436664
Abstract: In an electronic appliance, a base is thermally fused by a heat generating component. On the base, a heat dissipating fin group including heat dissipating fins each extending in a Y direction is arranged in spaced relation in an X direction. An exhaust fan and a partition between which the heat dissipating fin group is sandwiched in the Y direction are arranged so as to be faced with each other. The edge portion group of the heat dissipating fin group on the side of the partition is farthest from the wall surface at least one outermost position in the X direction and closest from the wall surface at a specific position different from the one outermost position, and is farther from the wall surface between the specific position and the one outermost position as the one outermost position is approached.
