Publication number: 20230111971Abstract: A hood inner panel for a vehicle includes a first member configured to bend upon a collision of the vehicle, and a second member configured to bent and disposed behind the first member. The first and second members respectively include a first protrusion and a second protrusion that protrude downward. The first protrusion includes a central section that extends in a vehicle width direction of the vehicle from a center in the vehicle width direction and an outer section that extends outward in the vehicle width direction from an outer edge of the central section in the vehicle width direction and that has a backward inclination angle that increases as a position thereof is nearer to outside in the vehicle width direction. The second protrusion extends in the vehicle width direction and at least partly overlaps the outer section of the first protrusion in the vehicle width direction.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2022Publication date: April 13, 2023Inventors: Junya NAGAI, Yoshio WADA

Patent number: 9239113Abstract: Provided is a seal ring that has low-leakage characteristics and low-friction characteristics and can improve the drive loss of the automatic transmission of an automobile to thereby contribute to an improvement in the fuel consumption of the automobile. The seal ring is attached to a shaft groove formed on the outer peripheral surface of a shaft. A plurality of peripherally spaced recessed sections are formed on at least the inner peripheral side of a contact side-surface. Inner walls are provided on the inner peripheral side of the recessed sections, and oil introduction openings that open on an inner peripheral surface are provided on the inner peripheral side of the recessed sections. The inner walls may be provided on opposite peripheral sides of the recessed sections but may be provided only on the rear side in the rotation direction.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 2011Date of Patent: January 19, 2016Assignee: KABUSHIKI KAISHA RIKENInventors: Junya Nagai, Tomoya Shibano, Mika Saito

Patent number: 9206907Abstract: Provided is a seal ring which has low-friction characteristics and low-leakage characteristics, reduces drive loss of the automatic transmission of an automobile, and contributes to improvement in fuel consumption of the automobile. The seal ring is attached to a shaft groove on the outer peripheral surface of a shaft. A plurality of recessed sections circumferentially spaced apart from each other with pillar sections interposed therebetween are formed at least on the inner peripheral side of a side surface of the seal ring in contact with the shaft groove. The circumferential opposite ends of each of the recessed sections are formed as squeezing portions formed of curved surfaces convex toward the pillar sections. The depth “h” of a deepest portion in which the axial width of the recessed section is the largest is set in the range of 2 to 17 where the axial width of the seal ring is 100.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2012Date of Patent: December 8, 2015Assignee: KABUSHIKI KAISHA RIKENInventors: Junya Nagai, Mika Saito, Tomoya Shibano

Patent number: 5941534Abstract: A hydraulic seal system includes a seal ring groove and a seal ring mounted in the seal ring groove. The seal ring and seal ring groove are rotatable relative to each other, and have sealing sides, respectively, which are put into pressure contact with each other by a sealing hydraulic pressure. The seal ring is made of a synthetic resin to have a fixed elasticity. The sealing side of the seal ring is formed into a convex curved surface with its radially central portion raised, so that when a hydraulic pressure is applied, the sealing side can be compressedly deformed to define a hydraulic pocket. Thus, the formation and retaining of an oil film at the pressure contact portions of the sealing sides is promoted.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 1995Date of Patent: August 24, 1999Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Kiminobu Terao, Kouji Ueda, Yorinori Kumagai, Takamichi Shimada, Kenji Amano, Toshio Oka, Junya Nagai

Patent number: 5660398Abstract: In a sealing device, a crank-shaped oil channel is defined in an abutment of a sealing ring for sealing between a shaft member and a housing which surrounds the shaft member and is rotatable relative the shaft member. The crank-shaped oil channel is comprised of a first oil channel portion and a second oil channel portion which extend axially, and a third oil channel portion which connects the first and second oil channel portions to each other. If the sealing ring is thermally expanded circumferentially due to a change in temperature, the sectional area of the flow path in each of the first and second oil channel portions is varied, but the sectional area of the flow path in the third oil channel portion is not substantially varied. Therefore, it is possible to leak a given amount of an oil from one side of the sealing ring through the crank-shaped oil channel to the other side, thereby preventing the wearing of the shaft member caused by foreign matter, such as an iron powder, contained in the oil.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 1995Date of Patent: August 26, 1997Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Kiminobu Terao, Mayumi Takada, Yorinori Kumagai, Takamichi Shimada, Toshio Oka, Junya Nagai
