  • Patent number: 6926684
Abstract: The orthopedic splint (1) for maintaining the knee in a rest position, especially after surgery on the posterior cruciate ligament, comprises a covering section (2, 3, 4) with stabilizing sticks (6) as well as strips (7) to fasten the covering section (2, 3, 4) which is wrapped around the leg and wherein the covering section (2, 3, 4) has a padding for the calf in the corresponding area.

  • Patent number: 5730710
Abstract: A knee orthosis for conservative treatment of ligament injuries and post-rative support of the joint function, in particular for joint ligament-conserving damping of movement in the region of extreme flexion and/or extension positions. The joint orthosis has a bandage which is elastic at least region-by-region, envelops the joint, and rigidly encloses and thus fixes the movement apparatus in the region of the joint. The bandage exhibits in specific orthotic sections an integrated pocket or chamber system with which the joint orthosis can also be stabilized, optionally in interaction with pull or pressure stabilizer's of the bandage that are provided at suitable points, following attachment to the joint and following stiffening of the pockets, in such a manner that the joint can be moved beyond a specific angle of flexion and/or extension only if the joint orthosis absorbs the force.

  • Patent number: 5562544
Abstract: A torsional vibration damper in which a first inertial ring is arranged at least in part radially on the outside of an inner ring and is bonded to it by an intermediate ring of rubber, the intermediate ring resting axially against the inertial ring with the avoidance of gaps and adhesion, the inertial ring being bonded to the intermediate ring substantially only in the region of its inside diameter, and a belt travel ring being additionally bonded to the intermediate ring and surrounding the inertial ring radially on the outside at least in a partial region.

  • Patent number: 5558592
Abstract: An accessory drive for attachment to the end of a shaft. The drive comprises a belt pulley, a carrier with at least a first and a second planet wheel that are strongly coupled and which have differing numbers of teeth, the first planet wheel being in engagement with a first gear circulating along with the shaft, and the second planet wheel with a second gear that is rotatable relative to the shaft, an activatable and deactivatable brake being provided between a continuously stationary part and a part capable of relative rotation, and a freewheel to prevent backward relative rotation of the second gear with respect to the end of the shaft. The first and second gears are arranged radially inside the carrier, such that the freewheel is arranged between the carrier and the part capable of relative rotation and the belt pulley at least partially surrounds the freewheel, the carrier, and the brake radially and externally, and so that the belt pulley and carrier are joined in rotary engagement.

  • Patent number: 5516331
Abstract: A torsionally elastic coupling for a machine part rotating about an axis, comprising an inner ring open axially in one direction, which axial opening is defined by two flank surfaces and one bottom surface, and an outer ring, having an annular axial leg extending parallel to the axis, which is received in the axial opening of the inner ring, and which is supported with respect to one flank surface of the axial opening by a guide ring, and which is connected to the other flank surface of the axial opening by means of a damping ring made of elastomeric material, the guide ring and damping ring being configured integrally and continuously with one another, and made of elastomeric material.

  • Patent number: 5415063
Abstract: A rotatable machine component with a ring of resilient material secured to it in the vicinity of at least one axially projecting collar. The collar has a continuous annular groove around it that cuts into its contour radially, and the ring is secured in the groove just by snapping into it. The ring and the rotatable component rest loosely against each other, when the component is not rotating, without internal tension in the ring.

  • Patent number: 5377962
Abstract: An inside ring (1) and an outside ring (2) are mounted about a common axis (3) and are joined to one another in a rotationally elastic manner by at least one elastic body (4) of elastomeric material. The elastic body (4) is bonded only to one of the rings (1, 2) and is supported in a relatively rotatable manner on the other ring (2, 1) by at least one friction layer (7) to limit the transmittable torque.

  • Patent number: 5245890
Abstract: A resilient coupling with relative rotation limitation. The coupling comprises an annular hub that fits into a concentric annular flywheel while separated from it at least to some extent by a radial interval such that the flywheel can rotate relative to the hub. A spring element of elastomeric material is accommodated between the hub and the flywheel. The hub has a first flange that extends radially outward and the flywheel has a second flange that extends radially inward such that the hub and flywheel respectively reinforce each other while permitting relative rotation. The first flange on the hub has recesses that open toward the flywheel and the second flange on the flywheel has recesses that open toward the hub. The first and second flanges overlap in the region of the recesses with the edges of the recesses forming opposing contact surfaces. The opposing contact surfaces are so delimited in the circumferential direction as to provide separation in at least one direction of the rotation.
