  • Patent number: 11693243
Abstract: A polarizing beam splitting system is described. The polarizing beam splitting system may include first and second prisms where the volume of the first prism is no greater than half the volume of the second prism. The first prism includes first and second surfaces and a light source may be disposed adjacent the first surface and an image forming device may be disposed adjacent the second surface. The first prism has a first hypotenuse and the second prism has a second hypotenuse. A reflective polarizer is disposed between the first and second hypotenuses.

  • Patent number: 11675191
Abstract: The present disclosure provides for an optical element useful in an optical device for illuminating the pupil of an eye, particularly for use with a head mountable display that can include eye-tracking. The optical device includes a light source and an optical element that transmits light, where light emitted from the light source is directed by the optical element toward the pupil of the eye, and attributes of the eye can then be detected by an optical sensor such as a camera. The light source can emit infrared light that is not visible to the human eye, so that world view images and/or combined digital images of the head-mountable display are not compromised.

  • Patent number: 11308568
Abstract: A computing system includes a computing device and a repository storing at least one model for a plurality of confined spaces each having limited means of entry or exit. The at least one model is based at least in part on respective sets of one or more characteristics of the plurality of confined spaces. The computing device is configured to: obtain one or more characteristics of a particular confined space having limited means of entry or exit, the one or more characteristics of the particular confined space identifying at least a type of the particular confined space; apply the at least one model to the one or more characteristics of the particular confined space to identify at least one hazard remediation technique for the particular confined space; and output a notification indicating the at least one hazard remediation technique.

  • Publication number: 20210216773
Abstract: In some examples, a system includes an article of personal protective equipment (PPE) configured to present an (AR) augmented reality display to a user and at least one computing device. The computing device may include a memory and one or more processors coupled to the memory. The memory may include instructions that when executed by the one or more processors identify a field of view of the user, determine information relating to the field of view of the user, generate one or more indicator images related to the determined information of the field of view, and generate the AR display including at least the one or more indicator images.

  • Patent number: 11061233
Abstract: A folded light path illuminator is provided. The illuminator may include a polarizing beam splitter having an input face, an output face and an imager face, a light source disposed adjacent the input face and defining an input active area on the input face, and an image forming device disposed adjacent the imager face for receiving light emitted from the light source and emitting a patterned light, which may be a converging patterned light. The image forming device may have a largest image area which defines an output active area on the output face. One or both of the input active area and the output active area may be less than about half the largest image area. The polarizing beam splitter may include first and second prisms and the volume of the first prism may be no greater than half the volume of the second prism.

  • Publication number: 20210097460
Abstract: Crowd funding for innovation includes distributing a proposal with a description of a project idea, an amount of funds requested, and a time frame for raising the funds. Ownership of the project is transferred to an entity, which receives contributions from contributors and for each of the received contributions converts the contribution to a corresponding amount of virtual coin and adds the contribution to the funds. If the funding goal is complete within the time frame, the entity converts the coins to actual money and releases the money to the requestor. After completion of the project, the entity determines if the project is successful and can commercialize successful projects. For certain successful projects, the entity can also distribute funds to the contributors.
