Publication number: 20140199050Abstract: A computerized system receives a source video stream presenting a panning view of a panoramic environment at a plurality of different viewing angles. The system stores angular metadata and sequential timestamp of each frame of the video stream, and extracts overlapping frames from the video stream which may be optically aligned using keypoint tracking to compile a static panoramic background image. During playback, a display device can align and present each frame of the video stream at a respective viewing angle relative to the panoramic environment, in sequence according to the sequential timestamp of each frame.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 16, 2014Publication date: July 17, 2014Applicant: Spherical, Inc.Inventors: Ram Nirinjan Singh Khalsa, Kathryn Ann Rohacz, Alexander I. Publication number: 20140122145Abstract: A flexible scheduler for matching knowledge seeker(s) with a knowledge provider of a specific subject matter is provided. The scheduler searches a knowledge provider database to identify at least one knowledge provider skilled in the specified subject matter. If no match is found, then the scheduler seeks and selects a new knowledge provider skilled in the specified subject matter. Finally, the scheduler schedules the knowledge sharing session by weighing seeker(s) preferred timeslots and weighing selected provider preferred timeslots.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 31, 2013Publication date: May 1, 2014Inventors: Michael Y. Publication number: 20140089850Abstract: A mobile device is configured to teleshift from a first lateral viewing perspective to a second lateral viewing perspective of a virtual tour object. The mobile device includes a sensor, a processor and a display. The sensor detects a teleshifting motion of the mobile device caused by a user, and the processor determines if a magnitude of the teleshifting motion is greater than a threshold. If the magnitude of the teleshifting motion is greater than the threshold, then the display teleshifts by transitioning from a first lateral viewing perspective to a second lateral viewing perspective of the virtual tour.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 2, 2013Publication date: March 27, 2014Inventors: Alexander I. Publication number: 20130293671Abstract: The present invention relates to systems and methods for stitching and sharing panoramas. In one embodiment, a computerized mobile device downsizes a plurality of captured images. The mobile device transmits the downsized images to a server with a panoramic stitcher. The server analyzes the downsized images and generates stitching parameters for the mobile device. The mobile device uses the stitching parameters to stitch the plurality of captured images into a panorama which can be shared with one or more recipients.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 12, 2013Publication date: November 7, 2013Applicant: TOURWRIST, INC.Inventors: Alexander I. Patent number: 6860235Abstract: A method and apparatus for safer and more effective deep trans-cervical intra-uterine artificial insemination (AI) is provided. Such a deep AI catheter causes minimal discomfort and risk of trauma, and does not require the services of a highly trained AI professional. First, a catheter is inserted into the cervical tract of the animal. A membrane, initially positioned inside a tube section of the catheter, is then extended from an opening in the tube and into the tract under pressure. The membrane extends into the tract without friction thereby reducing the discomfort and the risk of trauma or injury to the animal. When the membrane is fully extended into the tract, pressure causes the tip of the membrane to open thereby releasing the AI fluid and depositing the genetic material suspended in the fluid into the reproductive tract. Deployment of the membrane is facilitated by tapering its wall thickness towards its tip.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 2003Date of Patent: March 1, 2005Assignee: Pathway Technologies, LLC.Inventors: Donald E. Anderson, Mark E. Anderson, Glenn M. Anderson, Kang S. Lim

Patent number: 6574599Abstract: A method for permitting a user to create a plurality of outbound communication paths to a plurality of communication devices from a unified messaging system, the creating the plurality of the outbound communication paths being performed responsive to verbal input from a user through a telephone. The method includes receiving at the unified messaging system the verbal input from the user through the telephone. There is also included recognizing an action word from the verbal input which includes an action word and called party identity or contacting data. An calendar database for the callee, external to the caller's unified messaging system, is accessed via a network to determine whether a calendar entry therein temporally overlaps a time of the verbal command creating the end-to-end connection. The ascertained availability information may be provided to the caller for input whether to contact the callee.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 1999Date of Patent: June 3, 2003Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Kang S. Patent number: 6477240Abstract: A method for permitting a user to create a plurality of outbound communication paths to a plurality of communication devices from a unified messaging system, the creating the plurality of the outbound communication paths being performed responsive to verbal input from a user through a first telephone. The method includes receiving at the unified messaging system the verbal input from the user through the first telephone and performing voice recognition on the verbal input. There is also included detecting an action word from the verbal input after the performing voice recognition. The action word is indicative of a communication service desired by the user in creating the end-to-end connection. Additionally, there is included detecting at least one of a first called party identity and first contacting data from the verbal input after the detecting the action word.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 1999Date of Patent: November 5, 2002Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Kang S. Patent number: 6295355Abstract: A learned speed dial system (LSDS) for use in a telecommunication device monitors the telephone numbers dialed by the user. When the number of times a particular telephone number is used reaches a predetermined threshold, the LSDS determines whether the telephone number is in the speed dial directory. If this telephone number is not in the speed dial directory, the LSDS prompts the user to update the speed dial directory with this telephone number. The user can then elect to update the speed dial directory with this new telephone number, as desired. The learned speed dial system may be configured to automatically add this telephone number to the speed dial directory if the directory is not full. If the speed dial directory is full, the LSDS prompts the user to select a telephone number to delete from the speed dial directory. The LSDS keeps track of the usage of the currently stored speed dial telephone numbers.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 1999Date of Patent: September 25, 2001Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Stephen C. Publication number: 20010012286Abstract: An apparatus and method for alerting a user upon receipt of selected messages, independent of the type of device generating the message is provided. Message generating devices include telephony devices (telephone, fax machine, etc.), or data devices such as a computer or PDA. All messages are converted into a format compatible with a data network for delivery to a web server. The web server includes a message notification system with message alert type selection and incoming message filtering. A user designates from a computer the types of messages for which s/he wishes to be alerted, and designates how the alert is to be presented on his/her computer. When messages are received by the web server, they are distinguished by message type, and filtered according to the user defined criteria. Selected messages cause a message indication to be generated provided to a program on the user's computer.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 29, 1999Publication date: August 9, 2001Inventors: EMMANUEL L. Patent number: 5644731Abstract: The present invention provides an "alert" interface for a component which can be safely "hot-plugged/unplugged" to an "alert" interconnect of an electrically powered system. The alert interface has a mating edge which includes daughter precharge/ground connectors, a daughter (engage) waning connector, a number of daughter signal connectors and a daughter engage connector. The alert interconnect includes corresponding mother connectors. The respective connectors of the interconnect and the interface are arranged so that they mate in the following exemplary order when the interface is hot-plugged/unplugged to the interconnect: precharge/ground connectors, warning connectors, signal connectors and finally engage connectors. When the daughter (engage) warning connector mates with the mother warning connector, the component sends an "engage warning" signal to the powered system.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 1995Date of Patent: July 1, 1997Assignee: Sun Microsystems, Inc.Inventors: Bjorn Liencres, Ashok Singhal, Jeff Price, Kang S.
