    Abstract: Precise V-grooves allowing an optical fiber to project are formed in respective main surfaces of an upper plane substrate and a lower plane substrate. The optical fiber is mounted on one plane substrate, and a multi-layer film filter 2 is inserted into a filter insertion groove 1 crossing the precise V-groove in the main surface of the other plane substrate. Then, using the projecting optical fiber and the other precise V-groove as a guide rail, two plane substrates grapple the multi-layer film filter to fix and mount the filter. In an optical filter module obtained in this manner, a process of adjusting an optical axis between input/output optical fibers is eliminated, and displacement of the inserted optical filter is reduced.

    Abstract: A method for making document information searches. In performing a document search with respect to the desired key word, two stages of presearch are carried out. In a first stage of presearch, a character component table in which an existence of character codes for every document is stated with respect to all the character codes contained in the group of document text data of stored documents is generated, and the character component table is searched for all the character strings constituting a desiredly designated search subject key word to thereby extract all the documents each containing all the character codes constituting the search subject key word. In a second stage of presearch, contracted text data for every document in which adjuncts and duplication of repeatedly stated words contained in advance in the text data are eliminated is generated, and the documents each containing the search subject key words by word are extracted from the documents extracted by the first presearch.

    Abstract: Supply water temperature in a cooling tower is detected by a temperature detector, and based on the temperature detected by the temperature detector, a flow control valve in a hydraulic pressure supply line is controlled. As a result, operation of a hydraulic motor connected to a cooling fan can be controlled to efficiently cool down the water temperature to reach a preset temperature. Further, by a pressure-compensated variable displacement regulator of a variable displacement pump, the flow control valve is controlled to have irreducibly minimum pressure difference such that pressure on upstream side is slightly higher than the pressure on downstream side. Therefore, discharge pressure of the variable displacement pump can be suppressed to the irreducibly minimum value, and capacity of the variable displacement pump can be controlled to match the opening degree of the flow control valve.

A decision is then made as to whether or not the position information of the match terms satisfies a positional condition specified in the search query condition concerning a positional relation between the search terms, and match information is then generated indicating satisfaction of the search query condition when the positional condition is satisfied.

N-character strings at every (m+l)-th character positions are extracted from a search term and the neighboring plural-character occurrence bitmap is searched by using a search control program.

Thus, high speed file access can be realized by only the plurality of magnetic disk subsystems without requiring any special control hardware. A corresponding relation between subfiles in a virtual directory and the application request file can be taken to construct the directory, thus making the divided storage transparent to the application.

    Abstract: Synthetic resin structural members are inserted into a hollow joint member to abut each other in the joint member. A bearing-pressure damping member is fitted into each of bolt holes on the members, axes of bolts extend alternately in two mutually perpendicular directions. The structural members and the hollow joint member are secured with bolts and nuts. Due to damping action resulting from elastic deformations of the damping members, a load is substantially evenly distributed over the whole bolts to prevent concentration of the load to some of the bolts. The arrangement of the bolts with their axes extending alternately in two mutually perpendicular directions will shorten the length of the joint member.

    Abstract: A character string search arithmetic operation is performed at high speed with a small hardware scale processing module, such as a symbol string search module. The search module is connected to a CPU through address and data buses and includes a function definition section for defining a function of the apparatus in accordance with a command from the CPU, a data input/output section for receiving a symbol string to be searched through the data bus and for outputting the result of a search. A search processing section performs the search based on a function defined by the function definition section. A symbol string to be searched for, which is internally stored, is compared with the symbol string data input to the module's data input/output means. A condition holding section holds data indicative of an internal condition corresponding to the result of the search processing. Thereby, the CPU and the symbol string search module can perform the search at high speed.

When a search request is received in the course of execution of a search processing for an earlier prior search request, the former is stored in a queue buffer. The results of search processing as performed are then distributively outputted to the relevant search request sources, respectively. Output buffers for storing a set of search results of the search processings performed in the past may be provided in correspondence to the search request sources, respectively, for screening the documents for which the character string search is to be performed.
