  • Patent number: 4764819
Abstract: A VTR of helical scan type includes a rotary magnetic head fixed on an electro-mechanical converter made of a piezoelectric element and adapted to be displaced along the width of a recording track. In this type of VTR, the rotary head can follow the curving of the recording track, and therefore a superior reproduction output is always produced. Also, a noiseless reproduction image is provided at the time of special reproduction with a tape feed rate different from the recording speed. When the electro-mechanical converter is driven, the average DC component of the drive voltage is desirably reduced to zero to secure a dynamic range effectively. Especially this consideration is necessary to maintain the service life of the piezoelectric element which may make up the electro-mechanical converter.

  • Patent number: 4756546
Abstract: Disclosed is a rear wheel suspension device for a front and rear wheel steering vehicle wherein rear wheels are steered in an opposite phase relationship relative to the front wheels at least under a certain condition. The structure of the suspension for the rear wheels is so determined that a caster angle of each of the rear wheels relatively sharply increases as the distance between the vehicle body and the rear wheel is increased from a neutral state and maintains a smaller positive value as the distance between the vehicle body and the rear wheel is decreased from the neutral state. This can be accomplished by pivotably connecting the knuckle for each of the rear wheels by an upper arm and a lower arm to the vehicle body, respectively, and a rotational axial line of the upper arm inclines downward at its forward portion while the rotational axial line of the lower arm extends substantially parallel to the length of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4644414
Abstract: A magnetic recording and reproduction system of the helical scan type is disclosed. During the recording process, pilot signals for reproduction tracking control are sequentially recorded by the rotary magnetic head in recording tracks in proximity to each other in superimposed relation with the television signal to be recorded. During the normal reproduction process, from the level difference between the crosstalk signals of the pilot signals reproduced from the recording tracks adjacent to the recording track to be reproduced, a tracking error is detected to control the relative positions of the recording track and the reproduction scanning traces of the reproduction magnetic head. During the reproduction process at a speed different from that for recording, on the other hand, a pulse signal is produced at a time point when the crosstalk levels of the pilot signals reproduced from the tracks adjacent to the recording track to be reproduced coincide with each other.

  • Patent number: 4580214
Abstract: The present memory control system fetches data blocks from memories, fetches data corresponding to the unit of processing in the execution unit from the data blocks, and transfers the data to the execution unit. Data blocks fetched from the memories are held in first hold device. The data blocks held in the first hold device are transferred to second hold device via gate. The gate selectively transfers all or a part of data in data blocks held by the first hold device to the second hold device. When a part of data held in the first hold device is transferred, the second hold device forms data blocks by using the data previously held and the data newly transferred from the first hold device. A data fetch device fetches the data corresponding to the unit length of data processing in the execution unit from the data blocks held in said second hold device and transfers the data to said execution unit.

  • Patent number: 4561071
Abstract: This storage system is designed to refer to a translation lookaside buffer, a buffer address array and a buffer storage in parallel. The translation lookaside buffer translates a logical address requesting memory access into a real address. The buffer storage retains part of the data retained in blocks by main storage and outputs data from M blocks in accordance with the logical address to M aligners. The buffer address array retains the addresses in MS of the data stored in each of the blocks in the buffer storage, and outputs M addresses in accordance with the logical address. A comparator compares the real addresses from the translation lookaside buffer with the addresses from the buffer address array, selects one of the outputs from the aligners, and transfers that output to a processor.
