  • Patent number: 8120726
Abstract: There is provided a surface light source device having a configuration where light sources are arranged on both of a pair of side surfaces of a light guide plate and allowed to independently form nonuniform light emission intensity distributions in which light emission intensity is lower and higher at places closer to and farther from each of the light sources. Light guide control sections controlling guiding of light from light sources are arranged on a reflection surface of a light guide plate. The light guide control section is configured of concave sections, and the concave sections include inclined surfaces facing the light source and inclined surfaces facing the light source, respectively, and the heights of the concave sections increase with increasing distance from the light source. A nonuniform light emission intensity distribution in which light emission intensity is lower and higher at places closer to and farther from the light source is formed by lighting of the light source.

  • Patent number: 6840642
Abstract: A thermally actuated micro mirror includes a mirror surface, and a support structure section having a multilayer structure to support the mirror surface. The support structure section generates heat by the application of electricity thereto, and is deflected by a difference in coefficient of thermal expansion in the multilayer structure, thereby tilting the mirror surface at an arbitrary angle. The support structure section is disposed between the mirror surface and an electrode section for applying electricity. A longitudinal axis of the support structure section is perpendicular to the center axis of the mirror surface, and the longitudinal center of the support structure section is substantially placed on the center axis of the mirror surface. Therefore, the turning axis of the mirror surface is not displaced, and the light reflecting position does not move on the mirror surface.

  • Patent number: 5726756
Abstract: An optical disk master exposure apparatus employs first laser light modulated in accordance with signals to be recorded is irradiated on a resist layer to expose the resist layer in patterns corresponding to the signals to be recorded, and second laser light having a wavelength which is not sensed by the resist layer is irradiated on a predetermined surface of a predetermined member. The thickness of the resist layer is measured based on a change in output amount of the second laser light emitted by a light source, the output light amount of which is controlled so as to maintain a constant amount of second reflected light produced by irradiating the second laser light on the predetermined surface of the predetermined member. Also, the predetermined surface of the predetermined member is tested for possible defects existing thereon based on a change in amount of the second reflected light.

  • Patent number: 4901181
Abstract: A motor control device controls a motor driving mechanism which drives a motor according to a motor drive signal for providing a normal drive signal and a locked condition signal. When the motor becomes overloaded while being driven by the motor driving mechanism according to the motor drive signal, the motor driving mechanism is controlled by controlling circuitry which inhibits the motor drive signal from being supplied to the motor driving mechanism. The controlling circuitry, while the motor is in the overloaded state, controls the motor driving mechanism so that power is supplied intermittently to the motor, or so that the supply of power for the regular and reverse rotation is given alternately. The controlling circuitry, when the load of the motor becomes normal, allows driving of the motor according to the motor drive signal.
