Abstract: The invention relates to a method of removing bovine insulin from a liquid fat-free proteinous material originating from cow's milk, wherein the liquid fat-free proteinous material originating from cow's milk, the material having a pH of 2 to 8, at a temperature below 65° C., is contacted with an adsorption resin, whereby the weight ratio of the proteinous material to be treated to the adsorption resin is at most 100:1, optionally combining with said resin treatment at least one ultra and dia-filtration treatment of the proteinous material, and, if necessary, the liquid material so obtained is concentrated into a protein concentrate and optionally dried to powder.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method in a paper machine in threading of paper web, in which method a narrower tail (T) is separated from the edge of the paper web and transferred to threading guiding means arranged in connection with the moving parts of a machine conveying the paper web. Before transferring the tail (T) to the threading devices, its free length is shortened, for example by crinkling, wherein its tensile stretch is increased and bending stiffness reduced.

Abstract: An extended nip press for a paper machine for removing water from a wet paper, cardboard or that kind of a fibrous or porous web. The press comprises a rotatable press roll and two band rolls parallel to the press roll and an endless press band running around them which is pressed against the press roll for forming an extended press zone. The paper web to be dried is conveyed through the pressing zone with a dewatering felt. The press band consists of several separate parallel band strips, in the pressure zone. Each band strip is equipped with its own stretching device for individual regulation of the tension of the band strip.
