  • Patent number: 6237531
Abstract: A lightweight, portable pet bed is described. It features an open structure with a hollow ring around its periphery. This ring can trap air which provides a thermal barrier for the pet. A thermoelectric unit is mounted to its underside with appropriate ducting for air circulation so that, depending on the electrical connection, heating or cooling is provided to a sink which is integral with the platform in the pet bed. The pet bed can also provide holes in the platform to secure an appropriate mat for the pet to lay on and to cover the sink which forms a part of the platform. A host of shapes are contemplated, including rectangular, round, oval, and the like. The thermoelectric or other heating or cooling unit can be manually controlled or thermostatically controlled. The units are stackable for easy storage or for shipping or display.

  • Patent number: 6164484
Abstract: A snap fit lid for a container is described. The lid can be made to incorporate thermal insulation and engages the container internally and at its edge to form a double seal. An annular gap is formed between the double seals. A groove runs transversely to the annular gap across the internal and external seals to allow pressure equalization in the container with its surrounding environment. The closure straddles the container at its top and snaps to the container top to create a pair of offset opposed seals for a snug fit to the container. The closure is particularly amenable to use in tray sized containers used extensively in foodservice applications.

  • Patent number: 6076485
Abstract: A collapsible pet carrier of lightweight construction is disclosed. The endwalls are foldable onto the bottom, with the sidewalls foldable around the endwalls, allowing the straps to hold the bundle together when not in use. The carrier can be quickly assembled by pivoting the endwalls upwardly and fastening them to the sidewalls and securing the handles to each other. An optional storage pouch can be incorporated into the handle system and various windows in the side or endwalls can be provided to facilitate ventilation.

  • Patent number: 5964365
Abstract: A reusable transport and containment system for a pan or dish having a peripheral flange. The system includes a manually graspable collar that acts as support around the perimeter of the pan and a lid that sealingly engages the collar. The coupled lid and collar insulate the pan's contents while shielding the food handler's hands from the pan and its contents.
