Abstract: A compression-molded candle product having multiple layers and method of maufacture thereof are disclosed. The candle may be optionally configured to dispense one or more volatile additives. The additive may be fragrances, sanitization agents, deodorants, insect control compounds or any other volatile material, or mixture thereof. The candle may optionally have separate colorants in each layer.

Abstract: The wick of a candle is anchored above the bottom of the candle a flame extinguishing distance so that the wick is extinguished by the candle's molten solid fuel when the wick is consumed. Placement of the wick in this manner helps to eliminate bum through. Additionally, a bottom cavity may be formed in the candle. The cavity may be used for the purpose of helping to anchor the wick a desired flame extinguishing distance above the bottom surface of the candle. The cavity may be advantageously filled with scrap wax material since it will not be consumed by the burning wick.

Abstract: This invention provides a prilled wax composition that can be compression-molded to a votive type candle product which has a superior combination of density and hardness properties. An invention receptacle-contained votive candle can have a burn rate between about 2 and 5 grams per hour with a standard cotton wick, and maintains a flame height between about 1-3 centimeters during combustion.
