  • Patent number: 5045674
Abstract: A first sensor is arranged at a predetermined position on a conveying path of an IC card. When the IC card is detected by the first sensor, the conveyance of the IC card is stopped. A connector supported to a supporting member provided at a predetermined position approaches the contacts of the IC card and comes into contact therewith. There is also provided a second sensor to detect that the connector is located at a position adapted to come into contact with the contacts of the IC card on the basis of the motion of the supporting member. The supporting member has a projecting portion adapted to about on an IC card which has overrun from the predetermined position. When the projecting portion abuts on the IC card, no detection signal is output from the second sensor.

  • Patent number: 5010239
Abstract: A shutter is provided near an IC card inserting port of an IC card reader/writer. Contact members adapted to be come into contact with the contacts of an IC card are provided for a member constructing the shutter. When the shutter is closed, the contact members are located at positions such that they can come into contact with the contacts of the IC card.

  • Patent number: 4988854
Abstract: There is provided a card reader which has a card conveying path to sandwich and convey a card between the surfaces of a pair of opposite conveying belts reeved around pulleys and which processes card data by a card processing section arranged on the card conveying path. When it is detected that a drive motor to drive the conveying belts is continuously stopped for a predetermined period of time, the drive motor is raced for a predetermined period of time to prevent that the belts are deformed.

  • Patent number: 4904852
Abstract: A contact member supporting member is pivotably supported to a slide member which abuts on a part of an IC card to be inserted and is moved by the IC card. When the slide member moves, the supporting member also moves. The supporting member is swung in the direction of the IC card by fixed cams. Thus, contact members of the supporting member come into contact with contacts of the IC card. Since the contact member supporting member moves together with the IC card, the contact members do not slide on the surface of the IC card. Therefore, the abrasion of the contact members and the damage of the IC card which are caused by the slide friction between the contact members and the surface of the IC card, and the like can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 4871905
Abstract: A conveying apparatus of an IC card which is assembled in an IC card reader/writer includes upper and lower conveying belts to convey the IC card by sandwiching it. The upper and lower conveying belts are arranged so as to be deviated in the card conveying direction. A connector having contact members adapted to be come into contact with the contacts of the IC card is arranged in at least one of the spaces which are formed in both edge portions of the upper and lower conveying belts by the deviation of the positions of the conveying belts.
