  • Publication number: 20180242900
Abstract: A swallowing movement monitoring sensor which measures swallowing movement of a subject includes an outside shape variation sensor attached to a laryngeal portion of the subject and a microphone attached in an ear of the subject. The outside shape variation sensor includes an optical fiber sheet. The optical fiber sheet detects variation in quantity of transmitted light based on a loss caused by a lateral pressure applied to an optical fiber from the laryngeal portion in association with variation in outside shape of the laryngeal portion involved with swallowing movement. The microphone detects swallowing sound produced in the ear in association with swallowing movement.

  • Patent number: 9420964
Abstract: A body motion sensor, such as an SAS diagnostic device, with which a subject can be examined in a state close to that in an ordinary living environment and it is possible to clearly discriminate between an apnea state and a hypopnea state by means of a relatively simple analytical method; and an optical fiber sheet suitable for use in the sensor. The body motion sensor, such as an SAS diagnostic device, comprises a light source such as an LED, an optical fiber sheet, and an analysis unit that determines fluctuations in the quantity of light outputted from the optical fiber sheet and detects motions of the body.

  • Patent number: 9186078
Abstract: An optical fiber sheet 10 includes an optical fiber 11 and a wire 12 that are arranged between a first sheet and a second sheet. The optical fiber 11 is a multi-mode optical fiber having a core of silica glass to which a refractive index adjuster is added, has a numerical aperture equal to or less than 0.30 and a flexural rigidity equal to or less than 0.50 N·mm2, and is bent to be arranged between the first sheet and the second sheet. The wire 12 intersects the optical fiber 11 between the first sheet and the second sheet.

  • Patent number: 4854153
Abstract: An automatic calibration apparatus for a partial gas pressure measuring sensor supplies a gas having a high partial pressure (referred to as the high gas) and a gas having a low partial pressure (referred to as the low gas), to a gas selection device (103) from a gas supplier (101) through a detector device (102) which detects an abnormal gas supply condition outside given, satisfactory gas supply conditions. The selection device (103) selects the high gas or the low gas for supplying the selected gas to a sensor support (27 or 104). A partial gas pressure measuring sensor to be calibrated is placed on the sensor support and an automatic calibration controller (106) stores an output of the partial gas pressure measuring sensor (105) in an information storing memory. When the detector device, detects an abnormal gas supply of the high gas or the low gas, the automatic calibration controller stops the storing of the output of the partial gas pressure measuring sensor (105) in the storing means (107).

  • Patent number: 4779199
Abstract: A patient monitor monitors information on body condition. The monitor includes a sensor for detecting information on body condition and converting the detected information into an electrical analog signal. The electrical analog signal is converted into digital measured values and sampled by a data processor at a predetermined time interval. Or, the data processor calculates a representative data value from a predetermined number of digital measured values to obtain summary data. Continuity or discontinuity is determined from successive blocks of summary data. A read-write storage for the summary data and two different kinds of delimiters correspond to the cases where the continuity and discontinuity of successive blocks of summary data are identified.
