  • Patent number: 6070088
Abstract: In a portable telephone set having an audio-frequency amplifier (12) for amplifying a sound signal from a microphone (11) and a codec (13),for digitizing and coding the sound signal into a digital sound signal which is transmitted therefrom, a level of said sound signal is monitored (17) to produce a detected level and is averaged at a timing (18) and compared with level data stored in a memory (15), and an amplification control signal is produced. At least one of the audio-amplifier (12) and said codec (13) is controlled its amplification degree in response to the amplification control signal.

  • Patent number: 4123405
Abstract: In the process for producing the aqueous emulsion of vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate/ethylene terpolymer by polymerizing vinyl chloride, vinyl acetate and ethylene in an aqueous dispersion system under ethylene pressure in the presence of an emulsifier and/or protective colloid using a radical initiator, the improvement which comprises adding vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate to said aqueous dispersion system at substantially fixed rates while maintaining a required amount of unreacted vinyl acetate in the system, and, after completion of addition of vinyl chloride, adding additional vinyl acetate of 3 to 20% by weight based on the total amount of vinyl acetate which has been added until that time and continuing the polymerization until the concentration of vinyl acetate in the system is decreased to 1% by weight or less, wherein the volume of the aqueous dispersion system is at least 50% by volume based on the volume of the reactor when addition of the additional vinyl acetate is completed.

  • Patent number: 4094849
Abstract: A process for producing an aqueous dispersion of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer containing no formalin by emulsion-polymerizng ethylene and vinyl acetate and optionally other copolymerizable vinyl monomers in the presence of a redox catalyst consisting of an oxidizing agent and a reducing agent, which is characterized in that a reaction product of a glyoxal compound and an alkali metal, ammonium or zinc salt of a reductive sulfur oxide is used as the reducing agent for the redox catalyst, in which process the polymerization temperature is easily controlled.

  • Patent number: 4030101
Abstract: The antenna element, which is for use in television reception and the like, is manufactured from a single length of metallic bar or tubing which is bent to form the longitudinal edges of a regular eight face polyhedron, with the two ends of the length of metallic bar or tubing being bent outwardly parallel to each other at the bottom of the antenna element to constitute terminals. The antenna element has directional characteristics in four directions, in contrast to conventional antennas, such as dipole antennas or loop antennas, which have directional properties in only two directions, and can be miniaturized by utilizing known printed circuit manufacturing techniques. The antenna element has its best capacity when the length of each edge of the polyhedron is equal to one half the wavelength of an electromagnetic wave of a predetermined frequency.
