  • Patent number: 5095598
Abstract: A complex machine tool has a single frame having a chip, collecting space at a center portion thereof, first and second spindle stocks on the frame, relatively free to move and drive in a Z axis direction and holding the chip collecting space therebetween, workpiece spindles on the spindle stocks free to rotate and drive and facing each other, and tool rests. The tool rests have turrets and can assume various kinds of movement. Complicated and varied types of machining can be performed combining the rotation control of the workpiece spindles and the spindle stocks.

  • Patent number: 5058029
Abstract: A machine tool having the first and second spindle stocks being relatively movable in Z axis direction in the shape of facing to each other and workpiece spindles provided rotatably through which a workpiece can be held by those spindle stocks.Machining in the first spindle stock is performed on a basis of the machining coordinate system set relating to the first spindle stock according to the first offset value and machining in the second spindle stock is performed on a basis of the machining coordinate system relating to the second spindle stock set by computing on a basis of said first offset value or the second offset value.

  • Patent number: 4979121
Abstract: In a machine tool having plural coordinate systems and having controlled objects controlled on the basis of those coordinate systems, a coordinate system data memory storing dimensional information corresponding to each coordinate system as a coordinate system data is provided. A coordinate relation memory storing the coordinate position relation information by which the position relation among plural coordinate system is specified is also provided. If the controlled object corresponding to each coordinate system is driven, the coordinate system data is read from the coordinate system data memory when the coordinate system data belonging to the coordinate system except the coordinate system in which the controlled object is driven is needed.

  • Patent number: 4779204
Abstract: A tool or a workpiece is fed by the cut feed by cut feed commands during periods when the tool or the workpiece would normally be fed by rapid feed. These periods are chosen to occur when the distance of the sections to be fed is a predetermined distance or less. Then, in the case that the feeding distance is the predetermined distance or less, the tool or the workpiece can be fed more rapidly by cut feed rather than rapid feed. Thus, machining time is shortened to that extent.

  • Patent number: 4758961
Abstract: A tool move control method is disclosed. It comprises the steps of setting an interference area for an object which should not be interfered with a tool when a tool rapid move is instructed by a start point and a terminal point for the tool movement, setting an entry prohibit quadrant for prohibiting the tool entry and two or more of quadrants for permitting a move of the tool in the interference area, and controlling a move mode of the tool according to quadrants belonging to the start point and the terminal point in such a manner as to avoid the entry prohibit quadrant. A tool move control apparatus is also disclosed.
