  • Patent number: 7778672
Abstract: A device holder is placed on the lower region of a display unit, and part of an operating unit is placed on the holder. The operating unit is overlapping the display unit. Moreover, operating buttons other than those mounted on the holder are shaped so that the portions thereof projecting from a housing will have a substantially triangular cross section. Consequently, a finger with which the operating buttons are manipulated touches the portion of each of the operating buttons corresponding to the apex of the triangular cross section, that is, touches each of the operating buttons along a line. A degree to which the operating buttons are incorrectly manipulated is decreased, and the maneuverability of the operating buttons is held satisfactory. Moreover, the space between adjoining operating buttons is narrowed.

  • Patent number: 5703947
Abstract: A communication terminal equipment includes a body formed in a substantially parallelepiped form, housing communicating and receiving means therein. In this communication terminal equipment, a linear portion forming a side surface of the body and a projecting outwardly portion projected from the side surface are formed to be contiguous to each other. A single operation member which can be caused to undergo a movement operation in a forward direction and in a reverse direction constituting an operation mechanism for carrying out input to and switching of the communicating and receiving means housed within the body is provided at the projected portion. Only the single operation member is subjected to movement operation in the forward and reverse directions and makes it possible to carry out input to the communicating and receiving means and switching thereof.

  • Patent number: 5251329
Abstract: A radio telephone apparatus for transmitting and receiving information signals as electrical waves includes a main body section towards one end of which a speaker unit is enclosed. A battery casing accommodating a battery which is adapted for supplying power to the main body section is detachably mounted on the other end of the main body section to reduce the size and the thickness of the apparatus. A ringer device is enclosed within the battery casing so that the acoustic sound emitted by the ringer is prevented from reaching the user's ear which is in the vicinity of the speaker unit. The microphone for the radiotelephone apparatus in also enclosed within the battery casing.
