    Abstract: A data processing device connected to a network and an external memory device stores data in a memory area of the external memory device. Image data and the like are transferred and stored in the memory area of an external memory device, and the data name and storage destination of the stored data are recorded on a portable memory medium. This portable memory medium can be used to simply and easily manage the data location and the like at any time. Since the data name and storage destination are recorded in the portable memory medium, there is less concern that the data name and storage destination will become known to users other than the user possessing the portable memory medium, thus ensuring data security compared to when such data are stored in the data processing device. Moreover, because there is no need to store the data name and storage destination in the data processing device, the complex controls required for displaying the stored data names and the like on the display panel are unnecessary.

Furthermore, a bus-use reconcilement section 6 changes manners of bus-use reconcilement control when the sum of a plurality of bus-occupancy rate exceeds “50”, a predetermined threshold. Thereby, this method avoids occurrences such that a specific device occupies the bus 5 or vice versa, a specific device cannot get access to the bus 5.

    Abstract: In a barcode symbol reading apparatus which can execute high-speed processing even when a one-dimensional image pickup device is used, a pulse width count circuit counts the number of widths of bars and spaces of a barcode symbol from an image pickup signal from a 1DCCD array, and stores the count result in a FIFO memory. A data processing circuit fetches a width data string for each scan from the FIFO memory, and when the data processing circuit detects the sizes in the row and column directions and security level from the fetched width data string using a row indicator, the data processing circuit counts the number of times of appearance of an identical row indicator to obtain the number of scan times per row, which indicates the relative moving speed between the 1DCCD array and the barcode symbol. Thereafter, the data processing circuit processes the width data string read out from the FIFO memory while skipping scans corresponding to the number of scan times per row.

    Abstract: An ultrasonic endoscope apparatus in which an ultrasonic vibrating element radiating an ultrasonic wave to obtain an image of an object to be inspected is rotatably housed in a distal end of an insertion section of the endoscope, and a rotation angle sensing mechanism is also housed in the distal end. The rotation angle sensing mechanism has a magnetic recording section having a magnetization pattern for forming a magnetic field, and a magnetic sensor having at least one magneto-resistive element for sensing the magnetic field. One of the magnetic recording section and the magnetic sensor is rotated integrally with the ultrasonic vibrating element so that a rotation angle of the ultrasonic vibrating element is sensed in a precise manner.
