  • Patent number: 4845528
Abstract: A double-sided image forming apparatus having first and second input devices respectively for entering function data for desired image formation functions and for entering the number of copies to be formed. A memory is provided to store the function data, and a storage compartment is provided to store sheets during duplex copying. An image forming device is arranged to operate in two procedures: a first procedure in which image formation is effected on the sheet's first side in accordance with first function data, and a second procedure in which image formation is effected on the other side in accordance with a second, different, function data. A controller controls the image forming device so that entry of number data and function data is permitted before the first procedure begins, but so that entry of only function data and not number data is permitted after completion of the first procedure.

  • Patent number: 4060323
Abstract: This specification discloses a method and apparatus for imaging light on a medium to form a plurality of information elements which in turn form a particular character or other image information. A plurality of light beams are formed and are modulated by information signals and then the light beams are deflected by scanning means to scan a medium, the beams being modulated in such a manner that the same modulation is applied to a predetermined number of the light beams in accordance with a desired size of the information elements formed on the medium, and wherein the size of the information elements, defined by adjacent rows of identical light spots, is changed by varying the number of light beams receiving the same modulation.

  • Patent number: RE29323
Abstract: An electrophotographic copying apparatus having a photosensitive drum is provided with an assembly for feeding transfer material, an image transfer roller, and a fixing assembly all located upwardly of the drum, while a brush developer assembly, whole-surface exposure lamp, primary charging and contemporaneous secondary-charging exposure electrodes, and cleaning assembly are provided generally downwardly of the drum. The transfer roller and cleaning assembly are mounted on a movable frame structure which when moved away from a central frame structure permits access to and removal of the drum. A transport mechanism for an original has an adjustable path selector for recirculating an original upon insertion and expelling the original after the second traverse. The number of traverses is determined by a rotary cam. A dust-proof chamber encloses a completely independent optical assembly for projecting the image from the original onto the drum.
