  • Publication number: 20120076203
Abstract: A compressing unit 6 of a video encoding device selects whether or not to transform and quantize a prediction error signal 5 after a downsampling processing unit 36 performs a reduction transformation on the prediction error signal 5 by using a transforming process determining unit 31, and then creates quantization coefficient data 7a or 7b. When the compressing unit creates the quantization coefficient data 7b, a local decoding unit located behind the compressing unit inverse-quantizes and inverse-transforms the quantization coefficient data 7b, and, after that, an upsampling processing unit performs an enlargement transformation on the quantization coefficient data to create a decoded prediction error signal.

  • Patent number: 8103105
Abstract: In an object detecting apparatus for detecting whether or not a detection object is present in a monitoring area by comparing a present image with a background image photographed when the detection target is not present in the monitoring area, a background contour line information extracting means extracts contour line information of an article photographed in the background image. An object detecting means extracts contour line information other than the contour lines of the background image from the present image. Also, the object detecting means detects whether or not the detection object is present in the monitoring area based upon such a fact as to whether or not the contour line information can be extracted from the present image.

  • Publication number: 20110228842
Abstract: A variable-length encoder that feeds a Coded Block Pattern (CBP) as an input symbol to variable-length code output part. Coded symbol memory supplies CBPs in neighboring blocks as coding map table reference information to coding map table provider. Coding map table provider determines a coding map table used in coding of the CBP, based on these CBPs in the neighboring blocks, and provides a coding map table H4 to variable-length code output part. Variable-length coding table provider feeds a variable-length coding table to variable-length code output part. Then the coding target CBP is subjected to variable-length coding, and the resultant is outputted as coded data. This allows information source coding of coding symbols to be performed efficiently according to the coding condition and the property of image.

  • Patent number: 7630413
Abstract: A system for improving the transmission efficiency of channels involved in multilink communication and reducing the load of processing. A first data transmission apparatus changes the number of transmission channels involved in multilink communication from “x” to “y”, acquires SS (sampling size) and SPF(samples per frame) associated with the number of transmission channels “y” from an SS/SPF table, generates multilink frames based on the acquired SS and SPF, and transmits them to a second data transmission apparatus. When it is detected that the number of transmission channels has been changed from “x” to “y”, the second data transmission apparatus acquires the SS and SPF associated with the number of transmission channels “y” from the SS/SPF table, generates multilink frames based on the acquired SS and SPF, and transmits them to the first data transmission apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20090080534
Abstract: The present invention makes it possible to include, when encoding processing is applied to three color components using a 4:0:0 format, data for one picture in one access unit and makes it possible to set the same time information or the same set encoding modes among the respective color components. In an image encoding system for applying compression processing to an input image signal including a plurality of color components, encoded data obtained by independently subjecting an input image signal of each of the color components to encoding processing and a parameter indicating which color component the encoded data corresponds to are multiplexed with a bit stream. In an image decoding system for inputting a bit stream in which an image signal including a plurality of color components is compressed to perform decoding processing, decoding processing of the encoded data of each of the color components is performed using a parameter indicating which color component the encoded data corresponds to.

  • Publication number: 20090028427
Abstract: There are provided an encoding device, a decoding device, an encoding method, and a decoding method that enhance optimality in a case of encoding moving image signals having no sample ratio distinction between color components such as a 4:4:4 format. In a case of conducting compression encoding by inputting digital moving image signals of the 4:4:4 format, there are prepared a first encoding process of encoding three color component signals of the input moving image signals in a common encoding mode, and a second encoding process of encoding the three color component signals of the input moving image signals in respective independent encoding modes. The encoding process is executed by selecting any one of the first encoding process and the second encoding process, and the compression data contains an identification signal for specifying which process is selected.
