  • Publication number: 20130039965
Abstract: A coated granular material of the present invention includes: a water-soluble granular substance; a coating layer applied to at least a surface of the water-soluble granular substance and containing a thermosetting resin A formed from a resin liquid having a molar ratio A of isocyanate groups to hydroxyl groups of 0.5 to 0.99; and a protection layer applied to the coating layer and containing a thermosetting resin B formed from a resin liquid having a molar ratio B of isocyanate groups to hydroxyl groups of 0.75 to 2.0, wherein the molar ratio B of the protection layer is greater than the molar ratio A of the coating layer. The present coated granular material is capable of achieving both of a short-term release pattern and an initial release limiting function and maintaining good quality.

  • Patent number: 4826818
Abstract: A proteinaceous emulsifier can be obtained by reacting an amino acid ester with a hydrophilic protein in the presence of an endopeptidase to form decomposition products of the hydrophilic protein having a carboxyl end group joined to the amino group of the amino acid ester by amide linkage. This proteinaceous emulsifier has a typical surfactant structure in which a hydrophobic portion consisting of the amino acid ester is attached to the rear end of a hydrophilic portion consisting of the protein, and is characterized by causing little irritation to the skin, exhibiting strong emulsifying power and possessing moisture retention properties. Thus, it is very suitable for use as an emulsifier in various cosmetics such as creams, milky lotions and the like.

  • Patent number: 4474771
Abstract: A high-molecular-weight substance extracted from the root of edible burdock, characterized in that(1) said substance is soluble in water and alkaline aqueous solutions,(2) said substance is adsorbable to an anion exchange cellulose but not adsorbable to a cation exchange cellulose,(3) said substance has an absorption wavelength peak within a range of 280 nm to 300 nm, and(4) said substance has a desmutagenicity such that when the number of revertant colonies from Salmonella TA98 is determined by using 2-nitro-p-phenylenediamine as a mutagen in accordance with the inhibitory effect test described in the specification, the concentration of the high-molecular-weight substance at which the desmutagenic rate (%) becomes 50% is 4 to 6 parts by weight per part by weight of the 2-nitro-p-phenylenediamine.

  • Patent number: 4252781
Abstract: A thick suspension of sodium carbonate anhydride is obtained by countercurrent contacting of a high pressure steam and a suspension of sodium bicarbonate or sodium sesquicarbonate in a concentrated solution of sodium carbonate. The decomposition reaction is promoted to near completion by maintaining the reaction temperature above 150.degree. C. to realize a high HCO.sub.3.sup.- ion concentration in the solution. The sodium carbonate anhydride suspension is cooled to cause transition of the anhydride to the monohydrate, followed by the separation of the crystalline monohydrate from the mother liquor. Calcination of this monohydrate gives a dense soda ash featuring a high purity and a uniform particle size, while the mother liquor is recycled for the preparation of the sodium bicarbonate suspension.

  • Patent number: 4191752
Abstract: Anti-mutagenic factor is fractionated from cabbage juice. The factor is a protein having an M. W. of about 48,000 when determined by the SDS-gel electrophoresis and shows characteristic adsorptions at 280 nm and 404 nm. The factor substantially inhibits the mutagenic activity of various mutagens such as pyrolysates of amino acids.
