  • Publication number: 20060250495
Abstract: An electrophotographic image forming apparatus senses amounts of color misregistration of toner images, which are formed using n-number (where n is a natural number and n=2 holds) of photosensitive bodies, when light beams from a plurality of light sources are made to deflect and scan across the n-number of photosensitive bodies by a single rotating polygonal mirror. The timing of light emission from the light sources is controlled in such a manner that light beams from the light sources will be deflected and scanned by mirror surfaces of the polygonal mirror, from among the plurality of mirror surfaces that form the polygonal mirror, such that the amount of color misregistration of every toner image will be less than (n?1)/n pixels.

  • Publication number: 20060103716
Abstract: The optical path of scanning light E1 reaching the photosensitive drum 82a closest to the installation plane S of a plurality of photosensitive drums 82a, 82b, 82c, and 82d is provided at the photosensitive drum side with respect to the optical path of scanning light E2 deflected and scanned on the same side as the side of polygon mirror 10 for deflecting and scanning the laser beam, from the polygon mirror 10 to folding mirrors 24, 26. The invention presents a technology capable of equalizing the length of optical paths if the regulation of optical unit in height direction is different at both sides of the rotary polyhedral mirror.

  • Publication number: 20040145785
Abstract: An image reading apparatus is provided with a document glass stand on which a document is placed, and a document feeding portion having a platen roller for feeding out the document fed into the reading position of the document glass stand from the reading position and a pressure plate having elasticity and capable of pressing the document placed on the document glass stand against the document glass stand with the platen roller, and openable and closable relative to the document glass stand. A document reading sensor reads the document placed on the document glass stand while being moved below the document glass stand, and reads the document fed into the reading position while being stopped at the reading position. Design is made such that after the document feeding portion is closed and the document has been pressed against the document glass stand by the pressure plate, the platen roller presses the document against the document glass stand.

  • Publication number: 20040071486
Abstract: Originals fed out by a feeder provided above an original supporting portion for movement toward and away from the originals placed on the original supporting portion are separated by a separating portion and fed one by one toward an image reader. A regulator provided between the separating portion and the feeder is then moved to a retracted position in which it does not hamper the feeding of the originals, by an interlocking member, in operative association with the movement of the feeder to a feeding position in which it contacts with the originals when it feeds out the originals. Also, by the interlocking member, the regulator is moved to a regulating position in which it regulates the originals placed on the original supporting portion coming to the separating portion before the feeding operation by the feeder, in operative association with the movement of the feeder to a feeding stop position in which it becomes spaced apart from the originals.
