  • Patent number: 7800770
Abstract: When performing Push-type data transfer from the side of an image-supply apparatus 100 to a printer 200P, it is necessary for the printer 200P to have a buffer that is capable of containing at least the capacity for one page of data. Therefore, the text/image-supply apparatus 100 stores printing-description data obtained from the application on its own memory unit 105. The image-formation apparatus 200 performs rasterization based on received printing-description data, however, in this process, when there is a link file L that is linked to the top file T of the printing-description data, the image-formation apparatus 200 specifies the link destination and sends a data-acquisition request to the text/image-supply apparatus 100, so there is no need for a buffer.

  • Patent number: 7697152
Abstract: In a print system, without requiring a standardized command indicating use of a thumbnail image, and without causing an abnormal operation, a print content transmission device directs a print device to use the thumbnail image, wherein print content is described using XML format, and a direction command is described using XML format in the print content. Specifically, in a step S201, a processing control unit (111) proceeds to a step S202 in the case where there is input from a user I/F unit. In the step S202, a unique information addition unit (104) judges whether or not the thumbnail image should be used for printing. In the case where it is judged that the thumbnail image should be used (S202: Yes), the unique information addition unit (104) directs a print content generation unit (108) to add, to the print content, a direction to use the thumbnail image (step S203).

  • Patent number: 7557951
Abstract: The description interpreting unit (101) identifies the format (the Exif, the JFIF and the like) of the image data which is included in the content which is received from the host equipment (10). The image data obtaining unit (103) obtains the image data which is linked to the content from the printing content buffer (102) or the external DB (119). The image judging unit (104) judges the type of the received image file, and notifies the result to the image rasterization unit (105). The image rasterization unit (105) extends the compressed image data. The image processing deciding unit (106) decides parameters for the image processing which is executed by the image processing unit (107). The rendering unit (108) converts the image data to be described by the CMYK color space in order to execute printing. And, the printing unit (109) executes printing.

  • Patent number: 7502136
Abstract: A digital copying machine comprising an image scanner part for reading an original image to reproduce image data of the original image, a laser printer part for printing an image according to given image data, a removable memory card, and a reader/writer of the memory card is provided. For offline print, the image data of a document prepared in an external computer and output control data are stored into the memory card. By installing this memory card in the digital copying machine, the digital copying machine prints the image data read out from the memory card offline in a desired output form. For offline image input, read control data obtained by using an image scanner such as a read gradation level, a read size, density, and the degree of edge enhancement is stored in the removable memory card using software executed in an external computer.

  • Patent number: 7423776
Abstract: An image output apparatus capable of offline printing or displaying image and text data automatically and efficiently to a digital copying machine, a printer, a facsimile, a liquid crystal projector, and a television set. Discrimination is conducted as to whether data in a data file to be printed, which is read out from a memory card by a memory card controller, is color or monochrome image data. As a result of the discrimination, when the data is color image data, print confirmation unit provided in the image output apparatus allows a user to confirm whether or not to print out monochrome image data, which is converted from the color image data by the color/monochrome conversion unit.

  • Patent number: 7130077
Abstract: An apparatus for simultaneously reading images on both sides of the document sheet as the sheet having images on both sides is moved through the apparatus, one side read by a CCD sensor and the other side read by a contacted image sensor. An image synthesizing unit synthesizes image data from the CCD sensor and image data from the contacted image within one cycle of main scanning by the two image reading units. Furthermore, image processing circuits in the subsequent steps perform specific modes of processing on the data within one cycle of main scanning. That permits simultaneous reading of both sides of the sheet document without reducing document reading speed and expansion of the image processing unit.

  • Patent number: 7113297
Abstract: An image inputting and outputting apparatus which permits registration and fetching of document image data and which is so configured that choices with regard to registration and fetching of document image data can be made in simple procedures. To be specific, when instructions for registration and fetching document image data are received, dialog-type control means 100 inquires of the user about choices with regard to registration or fetching. On the basis of information provided by the user in answer to the inquiry, the means 100 issues instructions to document management means 300. For example, it is so arranged that the document image data just registered or fetched is specified by dialog-type control means 100 as next document image data to be fetched. That makes it possible to fetch in simple procedures again the document image data just registered or fetched.
