  • Patent number: 5037018
Abstract: An automatic feeder for tropical fish comprises a rotatable container containing granular feed and a driving device for rotating the container only at preselected times to discharge a predetermined amount of feed from the container. A switch turns on a drive motor at the preselected times to rotate the container, and a pre-settable timer controls the actuation of the switch. The container has a rectangular shape and is divided into a feed-receiving portion and a feed-discharge portion which communicate with each other through an adjustable opening. Rotation of the container through one revolution causes a predetermined amount of feed to flow from the feed-receiving portion through the opening into the feed-discharge portion for discharge from the container.

  • Patent number: 4782956
Abstract: A magnetic tape cassette in a case overwrapped with a plastic film having a tear tape wound on all four sides of the case close to, and substantially in parallel with, one case end, the film being overlapped at the mating edge portions and glued together on a side of the case adjoining to the above end, with the tear tape extended between the overlapped edge portions, is characterized in that at least one cut is made in the overlying one of the edge portions, extending along the edge of the tear tape closer to one case end and, where an additional cut is provided, the latter extending obliquely away from the end of the opposite edge of the tear tape. The underside of the end portion of the tear tape and, when desired, the same side of the overlying film edge portion, are made adhesive-repellent. The end portion of the tear tape may extend beyond the overlying film edge portion.

  • Patent number: 4748602
Abstract: An alarm mechanism for an alarm clock has an alarm hand and an hour hand mounted coaxially with respect to each other and the alarm hand and the hour hand are formed with integral hubs having cam grooves and cam pawls. The cam grooves and cam pawls are positioned with the same positional relationship with respect to the hub portions of the alarm hand and the hour hand so that at a preselected alarm time, the cam grooves and cam pawls cooperatingly engage one another to thereby actuate a mechanism to sound the alarm of the alarm clock. The alarm hand has an alarm pinion gear formed integrally with the annular hub portion of the alarm hand. Thus, in attaching the hands to the clock during assembly, it is possible to attach the alarm hand and the hour hand at any random angular position without having to pay special attention to the respective positional relationships of the two hands.

  • Patent number: 4693612
Abstract: An alarm mechanism for an alarm clock has an alarm hand and an hour hand mounted coaxially with respect to each other, and slideably contacting hub portions of the alarm hand and the hour hand are formed with cam grooves and cam pawls respectively. The cam grooves and cam pawls are positioned with the same positional relationship with respect to the hub portions of the alarm hand and hour hand so that at a preselected alarm time, the cam grooves and cam pawls cooperatingly engage one another to thereby actuate a mechanism to sound the alarm of the alarm clock. In attaching the hands to the clock during assembly, it is possible to attach the alarm hand and the hour hand onto respective shafts at any random angular position without having to pay special attention to the respective positional relationships of the two hands. The hands can be formed in multiple parts and molded together.
