  • Patent number: 8372375
Abstract: For recovering hydrogen with a high recovery from a reformed gas and contributing to downsizing and cost reduction of facilities, a high-purity hydrogen E is obtained by reforming a reformable raw material A through a reforming unit 1 to yield a hydrogen-rich reformed gas B, compressing the hydrogen-rich reformed gas B with a compressor 2, allowing the compressed gas to pass through a PSA unit 3 to remove unnecessary gases other than carbon monoxide by adsorption, and allowing the resulting gas to pass through a carbon monoxide remover 4 packed with a carbon monoxide adsorbent supporting a copper halide to remove carbon monoxide by adsorption.

  • Publication number: 20060260466
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a hydrogen permeable member composed of a metal porous body and a hydrogen permeable membrane placed thereon, with a diffusion preventing layer interposed between them, wherein the metal porous body has those parts on which the diffusion preventing layer is absent and such parts are filled with metal oxide particles and/or porous metal oxide. This structure prevents direct contact between the metal porous body and the hydrogen permeable membrane, thereby relieving the latter from deterioration by diffusion of metal from the former.

  • Publication number: 20050109982
Abstract: An agent for removing organic chlorine compounds which is composed of (A) an iron powder having a BET specific surface area of from 0.010 to 3 m2/g, and (B1) a powder of at least one species of metal selected from the group VIII elements (excluding Fe) in the periodic table, and/or (B2) a porous substance in powder form supporting said metal. If the agent is composed of (A) and (B1), the amount of (B1) is 0.01 to 10 parts by mass for 100 parts by mass of (A). If the agent is composed of (A) and (B2), the amount of (B2) is 0.0001 to 10 parts by mass for 100 parts by mass of (A). This agent is capable of removing organic chlorine compounds efficiently.

  • Publication number: 20050067344
Abstract: A zeolite membrane support for supporting a zeolite membrane includes a metal substrate having a metal oxide layer at its surface. Preferably, the metal oxide layer has a thickness in the range of 1 nm to 10 ?m and comprises chromia, silica, or alumina. Preferably, the metal substrate is porous, having a mean pore size in the range of 10 nm to 50 ?m, and comprises an iron-based metal. A zeolite composite membrane includes the zeolite membrane support and a zeolite membrane which includes an external zeolite layer lying over the surface at and/or an internal zeolite layer lying in the pores at the metal oxide layer side of the zeolite membrane support. The zeolite membrane preferably has a composition satisfying the relationship SiO2/Al2O3?10.

  • Patent number: 4873070
Abstract: A process for producing silicon carbide whiskers by heating a react solid silicon-containing starting material and carbon-containing starting material in a reaction vessel, wherein a molding material, which is prepared by previously molding the silicon-cotaining starting material into a predetermined shape, and a powdery carbon starting material are heated to a predetermined reaction temperature under a hydrogen gas atmosphere. Silicon carbide whiskers which are linear with no bendings, long fiber length, high aspect ratio and low silicon dioxide impurity can be obtained at a high yield of greater than 90% based on silicon vaporized from the silicon-containing starting material.
