    Abstract: An electronic apparatus is provided with a base unit and a display unit. The base unit has an opening formed on the upper surface. The display unit incorporates a display device and supported by the base unit. The display unit is rotatable between a first position where it is tilted down in such a manner as to cover the upper surface of the base unit and a second position where it is raised in such a manner as to expose the upper surface. The display unit includes a projection portion which is inserted into the opening when the display unit is rotated to the first position. A switch for turning the display device on or off is arranged inside the base unit. The switch includes an operation element opposed to the opening of the base unit. When the display unit is rotated to the first position, the operation element is pushed by the projection portion, thereby turning off the display device.

The casing includes a display cover and a display mask coupled to the display cover and having the opening. The display cover and display mask have outer peripheral edge portions, respectively, which are detachably coupled to each other. The display unit is provided with a plurality of support portions extending toward the outer peripheral edge portions. The support portions is clamped between the outer peripheral edge portion of the display cover and the outer peripheral edge portion of the display mask, whereby the display unit is fixed in the casing.

A bracket is arranged from the connector panel to the upper surface of the second stacking connector. The second circuit board is mounted on an upper surface of the bracket, and disposed above the first printed circuit board. A flexible wiring board is electrically connected to the second stacking connector and the second printed circuit board. The second printed circuit board is electrically connected to the first printed circuit board via the first and second stacking connector and the flexible wiring board.

    Abstract: A portable apparatus comprises a housing including a pack receptacle having an insertion port. The pack receptacle has a first connector facing to the insertion port. A circuit board is contained in the housing. The circuit board is positioned between the pack receptacle and a bottom wall of the housing. The pack receptacle contains a pack device to be detachable through the insertion port. The pack device has a second connector to be detachably connected to the first connector. The pack receptacle has an ejector for ejecting the pack device. The ejector has a pressing member for pressing the pack device in a direction away from the first connector and an operation member, positioned at the upper portion of the circuit board to be linked with the pressing member. The operation member has a lever section along the peripheral wall of the housing.

The pack receptacle has a slider for maintaining the battery pack at the pack receptacle. The slider is movable between a lock position and a lock releasing position, and maintained at the lock position through a spring. The slider has an insertion port, an engaging portion, a first cam portion, and a second cam portion. The insertion port is formed such that a convex portion of the battery pack is detachably inserted therethrough to be continuous to the opening portion. The engaging portion is formed to be engaged with the convex portion when the slider is moved to the lock position.

The external expansion unit has an operation mechanism for selectively moving the engaging device to the first and second positions.

    Abstract: A portable computer includes a body having a storing portion for storing a hard disk drive pack. The storing portion has an insertion opening which is open to the outside of the body. A hard disk drive holder is detachably connected to the hard disk drive pack. The holder includes a holder main body detachably fitted in the insertion portion. A pair of retaining members are provided on the holder main body and movable between an engaging position in which the retaining members engage engagement portions of the body to hold the holder main body in the insertion opening, and a retreat position in which the members are disengaged from the engagement portions to allow the holder main body to be detached from the insertion opening. A cover plate is detachably fitted in the insertion opening and includes lock pins which engage the retaining members to lock the members in the engagement position.

    Abstract: A portable computer includes a housing and a display unit. The display unit is attached to the housing to be movable between a closed position and an opened position. The portable unit may also include a keyboard which can be covered by the display when the display is in the closed position. A circuit board is proximate to the bottom wall of the housing. A shield plate for magnetically shielding the circuit board is disposed inside the housing proximate to the circuit board and can be between the circuit board and the keyboard if a keyboard is provided. At least one supporting member extends from the bottom face of the shielding plate and abuts the circuit board to prevent the keyboard unit, if one is provided, from bending toward the circuit board. The shield plate may include an edge which is supported on the housing. The portable computer may also include bosses positioned between the bottom wall of the housing and the circuit board.

When a dial key attached to the display unit is turned on, the movement of the interlocking member is restricted by the key and the hooks are locked in the latch position.

    Abstract: An expansion device includes a box-like device body and a second battery pack. The second battery pack is designed to be removably mounted in a battery mount portion, in place of a battery pack of the computer, and includes a coupling portion removably fitted in the fitting portion, and first and second power-supply terminals. When the second battery pack is mounted in the mount portion while the coupling portion is fitted in the fitting recess, the device body is coupled to the computer in a state where the second connector is connected to the first connector and the first and second power-supply terminals contact power-receiving terminals of the computer and the power-receiving terminals of the device body.
