  • Patent number: 9836051
Abstract: Automated drive assisting devices, methods, and programs acquire position specifying information for specifying a vehicle position during travel, and acquire a continuity degree that represents a degree to which automated drive can be continued on the basis of the position specifying information acquired during the automated drive. The devices, methods, and programs determine whether the automated drive can be continued on the basis of the acquired continuity degree, and determine vehicle control information for controlling a vehicle such that the continuity degree becomes higher on the basis of the acquired position specifying information in the case where it is determined that the automated drive cannot be continued. The devices, methods, and programs output the determined vehicle control information to a vehicle control device that controls the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 9739628
Abstract: Intersection guide systems, methods, and programs acquire information on a path of a vehicle and acquire a travel direction of the vehicle at a guide intersection ahead of the vehicle on the basis of the information on the path. The systems, methods, and programs display a guide image that represents the travel direction superimposed on a portion of a forward scene ahead of the vehicle other than an image of the guide intersection, and a connection line image as superimposed on the forward scene, the connection line image connecting between the image of the guide intersection in the forward scene and the guide image. The connection line image is superimposed on the forward scene such that a length of the connection line image becomes shorter as a degree of approach of the vehicle to the guide intersection becomes larger.

  • Publication number: 20170018189
Abstract: Automated drive assisting devices, methods, and programs for a vehicle acquire road information including information on a lane change prohibited section of a road on which the vehicle travels, and determine whether a lane change is to be made at a branch point for guidance positioned ahead of the vehicle during automated drive. The devices, methods, and programs determine, based on the road information, whether the vehicle is traveling on a road with the lane change prohibited section. When it is determined that a lane change is to be made at the branch point for guidance and the vehicle is traveling on the road on with the lane change prohibited section, the devices, methods, and programs cause the vehicle to make a lane change in a section other than the lane change prohibited section before the branch point for guidance.

  • Publication number: 20160347327
Abstract: An autonomous vehicle driving assist system, method, and program set a planned route of a vehicle, the planned route including an autonomous driving section where autonomous driving control of the vehicle is permitted, and set a transition exclusion section of the planned route where a transition from autonomous driving control to manual driving is determined to be difficult. The system, method, and program set a transition section of the planned route where the transition from autonomous driving control to manual driving is made, and which excludes the transition exclusion section. Based on the transition section, the system, method, and program determine a section where autonomous driving control is performed in the planned route.

  • Patent number: 9508258
Abstract: Intersection guide systems, methods, and programs acquire a degree of approach of a vehicle to an intersection ahead of a vehicle and display a guide image at a position of the intersection superimposed on a forward scene ahead of the vehicle. The systems, methods, and programs set, as a position of superimposition of the guide image, an intersection position within the forward scene when the degree of approach is less than a threshold. The intersection position corresponds to a registered position registered in map information as the position of the intersection. The systems, methods, and programs set, as the position of superimposition, a straight-line position within the forward scene when the degree of approach is equal to or more than the threshold. The straight-line position corresponds to a position on a straight-ahead line that is a straight line extending in a travel direction of the vehicle from the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 9347786
Abstract: Intersection guide systems, methods, and programs acquire information on a vehicle path, acquire a vehicle travel direction at a guide intersection ahead of the vehicle based on the information on the path, and cause a display to transition from a first display state to a second display state when a degree of approach of the vehicle to the guide intersection becomes equal to or more than a threshold. In the first display state, the display displays a guide image that represents the travel direction superimposed on a portion of a forward scene ahead of the vehicle other than the guide intersection, and displays a connection line image superimposed on the forward scene that connects between the guide intersection in the forward scene and the guide image. In the second display state, the display displays the guide image superimposed on the guide intersection in the forward scene.

  • Patent number: 8862389
Abstract: Display systems, methods, and programs generate and display an arrow object superimposed on an actual image of a road ahead of a vehicle. The systems, methods, and programs access information about a lane change route for guiding the vehicle when changing from a travel lane to a recommended lane. The systems, methods, and programs generate and display a travel lane part of the arrow object, a crossing part of the arrow object, and a recommended lane part of the arrow object, each as a superimposed image on the recommended lane. As remaining distance from a current position of the vehicle to the junction becomes smaller, a distance of a directional component along the travel lane for at least one of the travel lane part, the crossing part, and the recommended lane part is shortened.
