  • Publication number: 20110307448
Abstract: In conventional managed copy, files are copied to the copy destination, while maintaining the file structure of the copy source. A problem pertaining to the conventional managed copy is that, when a partial copy, which changes the file structure of the copy source, is performed, the created disc does not conform to the standard and thus cannot be played back by the playback device. In the playback device of the present invention, a managed copy control unit 423 includes a mapping data processing unit 609, and in the case of a partial copy, copies a file to the copy destination disc 802 by changing its file name to a file name for use in the copy destination disc 802. With this structure, it is possible to create a disc that conforms to the standard and can be played back by the playback device.

  • Publication number: 20110211815
Abstract: In performing stereoscopic view, a shift information memory stores, as a number of pixel lengths, an offset indicating how far in a right direction or a left direction to move coordinates of pixels to realize stereoscopic view. When realizing stereoscopic view, a plane shift engine moves the coordinates of image data in a graphics plane in the right direction or the left direction by the number of pixel lengths indicated by the offset. When a scale of video data targeted for stereoscopic view is changed by a basic graphics plane, a shift distance of pixel coordinates by the plane shift engine is based on a number of pixel lengths obtained by multiplying the offset by a changed scaling factor in the horizontal direction.

  • Patent number: 7921373
Abstract: A display screen management unit is provided which can reduce a screen resource required to switch screens and simultaneously display a pre-transition screen and a post-transition screen. A screen control section requests a screen discard determination section to determine whether or not a currently displayed screen is to be discarded. The screen discard determination section compares currently displayed screen information with switching target screen information, and when the currently displayed screen is completely hidden by the switching target screen, determines that the currently displayed screen is to be discarded. The screen control section discards a screen resource for the screen determined to be discarded, from a screen resource saving section. The screen control section generates a screen resource for the switching target screen, and saves the screen resource into the screen resource saving section. The screen control section causes a display section to display the saved screen resource.

  • Publication number: 20110052153
Abstract: A problem with high resource-consuming managed copy is that simultaneous execution of the managed copy, which is controlled by a playback device, and a BD-J application, which is recorded on a recording medium, leads to a shortage in resources. Provided is a playback device that enables simultaneous execution of the managed copy and the BD-J application while preventing resource contention therebetween, by imposing an access limitation on the disc medium by causing the BD-J application to assume that the disc medium has been virtually ejected.

  • Publication number: 20100138933
Abstract: Provided is a data management device for managing data recorded onto a readable and writable recording medium by an application that is verified based on a digital certificate. The recording medium has a plurality of areas and access to each area is restricted to a different application. The data management device includes an application authentication module, a mapping module, and a local storage display module. The application authentication module verifies that an application is an authentic application based on a digital certificate attached to the application. The mapping module associates, if the application is verified, an area accessible by the application with a subject name described in the digital certificate used for the verification. The local storage display module displays information regarding the area accessible by the application, with the use of the subject name associated with the area.

  • Patent number: 7017163
Abstract: In synchronous communication in a client-server-distributed data system, the turnaround time from when a client calls a server function until the client receives a notification of completion of the server function is reduced. A server includes a pre-processing registration section for registering pre-processing; a post-processing registration section for registering post-processing; a server command section for requesting to register the pre-processing and the post-processing; and a server function correspondence section for establishing correspondence between the pre-processing and the post-processing with a server function identifier. When the server receives a request message from a client to call a server function, the server execute pre-processing and sends a completion message including the execution result of the pre-processing to the client. After sending the completion message, the server executes post-processing.
