    Abstract: A rotation sensor includes a first rotor constituted by a magnetic material and having an outer face that has first conductive layers disposed in two levels as viewed in the direction of a rotation axis and second conductive layers disposed outwardly of and between the first conductive layers, a second rotor having metal members corresponding to the first conductive layers of the first rotor, and a stationary core having a stationary core body that accommodates therein two exciting coils that are spaced from each other in the direction of the rotation axis. The second rotor is disposed between the first rotor mounted to a first shaft and the stationary core fixed to a stationary member, and is mounted to a second shaft which is rotatable relative to the first shaft.

    Abstract: To provide a rotation sensor for detecting a relative rotation angle, which shows little variation in detection accuracy even in the presence of disturbances. The rotation sensor detects a variation in impedance of each of two exciting coils (12b) which is produced depending on the strength of eddy currents induced in first and second rotors (11, 13), and determines a relative rotation angle on the basis of a difference between the amounts of both variations. A first conductive layer (11a) is provided on at least one of the opposite sides of the first rotor as viewed along a rotation axis, and consists of a plurality of portions arranged in a circumferential direction of the first rotor with predetermined spaces between. The stationary core (12) is so arranged that a core body (12a) holding the two exciting coils (12b) is symmetrical with respect to a plane normal to the rotation axis.

    Abstract: A method of determining collision occurring in a virtual space generated by a system using a computer includes the steps of preparing, for drawing data approximating a virtual object in the virtual space by a plurality of rectangular parallelepipeds, machine readable first shape data for collision determination approximating the virtual object by a plurality of rectangular parallelepipeds smaller in number than rectangular parallelepipeds of the drawing data, and determining, as a prescribed point moving in the virtual space moves, whether the prescribed point and the virtual object satisfy a predetermined collision condition or not, based on a coordinate of the prescribed point in the virtual space and the first shape data, by computer calculation. An apparatus for implementing this method is also disclosed.

    Abstract: A checking apparatus for flat type display panels includes a multiple number of cameras used for picking up images of a check pattern that is generated by a check pattern generator in accordance with a check item and displayed on a liquid crystal panel and a high-speed image processor for processing the obtained image signal from the taken image so as to detect defects in accordance with the check item. Further, the apparatus is constructed such that, as to some check items, the area of the display panel is divided into a multiple number of sections and a multiple number of check patterns are displayed at the same time in respective sections to thereby perform checking on multiple check items simultaneously. Alternatively, the apparatus is constructed such that, checking as to some check items is performed by processing image signals obtained in only a previously designated part of the liquid crystal panel.
