  • Patent number: 5042229
Abstract: A driving system in a packaging appratus is controlled by detecting when an object to be packaged reaches a predetermined position of a supplying device, driving a film supplying device to withdraw a packaging film in the form of a strip for a predetermined time and/or a predetermined length after detecting the object to be packaged at the predetermined position, and driving a cutting device to cut a predetermined position of the packaging film, formed cylindrically about the object, after detecting the object to be packaged at the predetermined position. A detecting device is provided on or adjacent to the supplying device for detecting when the object to be packaged reaches the predetermined position of the supplying device. A first driving device drives the supplying device at a constant speed. A second driving device drives the film supplying device, and a third driving device drives the cutting device.

  • Patent number: 5004846
Abstract: Nitrobenzenes are prepared by nitrating benzenes in a vapor phase with dilute or concentrated nitric acid wherein the following (A) or (B) is used as a catalyst:(A) acidic sheet clay minerals ion-exchanged with polyvalent metals, or(B) acidic composite oxides comprising oxides of metals belonging to Group IVA of the Mendeleefs' periodic table and tungsten oxide, molybdenum oxide, niobium oxide or zinc oxide. These catalysts have high catalyst activity and selectivity for vapor phase nitration reaction of benzenes with nitric acid and besides the activity is retained for a long time.

  • Patent number: 4987279
Abstract: A display button of a push-button switch according to the invention includes a central design display portion and angular display portions, which serve for illumination, arranged on the display surface of a push-button, with a display of a color contrasting with that of the background. Displays having a variety of colors and modes can be presented by selectively illuminating and displaying both display portions.

  • Patent number: 4717770
Abstract: .epsilon.-caprolactam is prepared by gas phase catalytic synthesis where cyclohexanone oxime is brought into contact with a crystalline zeolite, for example, aluminosilicate zeolite or metallosilicate zeolite having a constraint index of 1-12 which has been surface treated with an organometallic compound represented by the general formula: R.sub.4-n MX.sub.n wherein R which may be identical or different represent an alkyl group of 1-6 carbon atoms or phenyl group, M represnets Si or Ge, X represents Cl or an alkoxy group of 1-6 carbon atoms and n represents 1 or 2.

  • Patent number: 4654457
Abstract: A method for selectively dealkylating a 1,4-dialkylbenzene in a dialkylbenzene mixture is disclosed, comprising contacting the mixture with a zeolite catalyst which is prepared by the steps of: (1) hydrothermally synthesizing a zeolite from a system in which an alkali metal cation and an organic cation or its precursor coexist and then calcining the zeolite; and (2) modifying the zeolite with a metal or metalloid oxide. This method permits selective dealkylation of a 1,4-dialkylbenzene while maintaining the yield and purity of olefins formed during the dealkylation at high levels.

  • Patent number: 4642409
Abstract: An industrially excellent method for selectively dealkylating a 1,4-dialkylbenzene in a dialkylbenzene mixture by the use of a specified zeolite catalyst is disclosed, which catalyst is a crystalline zeolite ion-exchanged with sodium ion, potassium ion, potassium ion, rubidium ion, or cesium ion. The specific zeolite catalyst is easy to prepare and allows selective dealkylation of the 1,4-dialkylbenzene and recovery of the formed olefins in a high yield and a high purity.
