  • Patent number: 6270329
Abstract: A rotary compressor is provided with a cylinder which defines a cylinder chamber and a piston disposed in the cylinder chamber. The piston includes a roller which performs a revolving motion within the cylinder chamber and a vane which partitions the interior of the cylinder chamber into a suction chamber and a compression chamber. A small space is provided so as to communicate with the compression chamber in only a predetermined section without communicating with the suction chamber so as to suppress noise generated by a pressure fluctuation in the interior of a compression chamber and, at the same time, can prevent the occurrence of a loss induced by re-expansion of a refrigerant remaining in a small space and a loss induced by return of the refrigerant to a suction chamber.

  • Patent number: 6217303
Abstract: An orbiting fluid machine has a feature that the speed of sliding movement is low, while vibrations are small, its performance is lowered when the rotational speed becomes high, and this problem is resolved by the following structure. A displacement fluid machine includes a displacer making an orbital motion within a casing into which a working fluid is drawn, thereby drawing and discharging the working fluid, in which an oil retaining mechanism or a seal mechanism is provided at each of opposite end surfaces of the displacer. This results that, axial gaps at the end surfaces of the displacer are effectively sealed so as to reduce a leakage loss, thereby achieving a high performance and a high reliability.

  • Patent number: 6024670
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a control apparatus for an automatic transmission. The control apparatus comprises an oil pressure control section for controlling engagement transition oil pressure which is supplied to friction engaging elements so that what is changed by a speed-change is changed along a locus of a predetermined target value. Also, the control apparatus comprises an engine torque control section for controlling a quantity of change in engine output torque during a speed-change so that a parameter whose value changes in parallel to a speed changing operation has an optimum change characteristic. The engagement transition oil pressure is corrected based on the quantity of change in the engine output torque in controlling the engagement transition oil pressure, and the quantity of change in the engine output torque is corrected based on the engagement transition oil pressure in controlling the quantity of change in the engine output torque.

  • Patent number: 5938417
Abstract: The present invention enables a scroll fluid machine to have a maximum design volume ratio without increasing an outside dimension of scrolls and allows the basic spiral curve of the scroll to be configured with simple curves. The basic spiral curve of a scroll wrap comprises a group of concentric semicircles, a group of circular arcs having a center different from that of the group of semicircles, and a group of straight lines or curves connecting the group of semicircles and the group of circular arcs together, and a diameter of the outer-most circumferential semicircle of a fixed scroll member is twice as large as radius of the outer-most circumferential circular arc of an orbiting scroll member. In addition, an outer diameter of an end plate of an orbiting scroll is equal to an outer diameter of the outer-most circumferential wrap of the scroll.

  • Patent number: 5345785
Abstract: A horizontal-installation-type scroll compressor requiring small installation space adopts a technique which can reduce the amount of refrigerating machine oil circulating through the refrigeration cycle. By using this scroll compressor, an air conditioner is provided whose unit body has a reduced depth and which has satisfactory ventilation efficiency and cyclic efficiency. The scroll compressor includes a closed container which is separated into a section lodging an electric motor and a compression mechanism and a section where a discharge pipe is provided. Refrigerating machine oil is stored in the section including the discharge pipe in order to ensure the requisite amount of refrigerating machine oil. An oil separation mechanism is provided in the passage of the refrigerant gas so that refrigerant gas containing little amount of refrigerating machine oil may be sent out from the discharge pipe.
