  • Patent number: 4396982
Abstract: The alignment of data as required in an L-stage is carried out with a first aligner which is controlled by a wired logic for exclusive use, while the alignment of data as required in an E-stage is carried out with a second aligner which is controlled by a microinstruction. Regarding those among macroinstructions which need to fetch storage operands in only the L-stages, the alignment of the storage operand is carried out by means of the first aligner. On the other hand, in the execution of macroinstructions which need to fetch storage operands in both the L-stages and the E-stages, the storage operands fetched in the L- and E-stages are respectively aligned by means of the first and second aligners.

  • Patent number: 4385365
Abstract: A data shunting and recovering device is provided to shunt and hold the data stored in a register and its address before writing the register during a delay period following generation of an interrupt. This data is then restored into the register when an instruction of recovering is given. Therefore, it is allowed to achieve the moderating effects of delaying the stopping of the stage advance in data processing upon generation of an instruction for interruption without loss of data stored in the memory prior to writing during this delay period.

Abstract: A data processing system using a store data buffer control device includes plural store data buffers and the data from a processor is temporarily stored in the store data buffers and then transferred to a memory. A shift register is used to trace the storing requests from the processor so that the storing requests re-executable in the instruction re-execution taking place at the time of a fault occurring are distinguished from the storing requests not re-executable in the same operation. The data held in the store data buffers corresponding to the re-executable requests is invalidated while the data held in the store data buffers corresponding to the non-re-executable requests is kept valid.

  • Patent number: 4197578
Abstract: A circuit outputs different subsidiary address data depending on operand address data contained within operand designation fields and operation codes of system instructions. A control storage, which stores microinstructions, is accessed for the initial microinstructions, contained within microinstruction sequences for system instructions, at storage locations specified by the operation codes and the subsidiary address data. As a result, different microinstruction sequences for system instructions with the same operation code can be initiated depending on the operand address data, without using any microinstructions for testing the operand address data.
