  • Patent number: 7246440
Abstract: A spindle motor is formed so as to support a pivot of a rotor by a pair of open bearings. The open bearings thus constructed will be less expensive and simple structures, so that a manufacturing cost thereof is reduced compared to a conventional spindle motor using a pair of ball bearings with shields. Accordingly, a low-cost spindle motor can be provided.

  • Publication number: 20060231485
Abstract: A process of producing an asymmetric membrane of multicomponent polyimide. The process includes the steps of (1) preparing a multicomponent polyimide blend solution by mixing a polyimide component A having a number-averaged polymerization index NA and a polyimide component B having a number-averaged polymerization index NB, wherein NA and NB satisfies equation 1: 2.35×NA?2.09<NB<450×NA?1.12??1 (2) subjecting the multicomponent polyimide blend solution to further polymerization and imidation reaction, and (3) causing a phase inversion in the resulting multicomponent polyimide blend solution to form an asymmetric membrane. The polyimide component A is raw materials of polyimide A containing a fluorine atom in the chemical structure thereof and/or a polymerization and imidation reaction product of the raw materials. The polyimide component B is raw materials of polyimide B and/or a polymerization and imidation reaction product of the raw materials.

  • Patent number: 7122929
Abstract: If the motor housing 5 is manufactured with a resin, the housing 5 becomes possible to be manufactured by injection molding, so that the housing 5 can be intended to lower the manufacturing cost by a mass production. Further, the counter measures for insulation such as covering a copper wire 7 with an insulating tape, interposing an insulator to an opening 5a of the housing installing an insulating shim between the coil 6a and the housing 5 become unnecessary. As a result, it becomes possible to expect a cost down of the spindle motor due to the reduction of the cost of the parts for insulating members and the mounting processes. And, further, since a vibration transmitted from the rotor 1 through the bearing and a vibration caused by an electric switching of the stator 6 etc. are diminished due to elastic absorbing function of the housing 5, rotation noise of the spindle motor can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20060155088
Abstract: A crystalline polymer exhibiting crystal transition in the solid phase state, which satisfies the relationship defined by the formula 150>?Htr>1.6Ttr?3.5 (1) (wherein ?Htr represents the endotherm (J/g) accompanying crystal transition and Ttr represents the crystal transition temperature (° C.)). This crystalline polymer has a weight average molecular weight of 600 thousand or less and a crystal transition temperature (Ttr) of 67° C. or below. Since this crystalline polymer has a low phase transition temperature, a high heat of a crystal transition, and a high melting point, the potential utility thereof as a switching element or a thermal storage material used at around normal environment temperatures (20 to 50° C.) is high.

  • Publication number: 20060154004
Abstract: A silica cake formed of easily dispersible precipitated silica having small primary particle size is provided, from which highly transparent silica dispersion can be effectively obtained. This silica cake is characterized by being a cake of precipitated silica having BET specific surface area of at least 220 m2/g, and when it is dispersed in ion-exchange water to provide an aqueous dispersion of the silica of 5% by weight in concentration and further diluted to reduce the silica concentration to 1.5% by weight, the dispersion having a light-scattering index (n-value) of at least 2. This silica cake can be obtained by simultaneously adding an alkali silicate and a mineral acid to a reaction liquid whose pH is being maintained at a fixed value within a range of 7.5-11.5 and whose temperature is being maintained at not lower than 90° C., whereby forming precipitated silica through their reaction, and separating said precipitated silica from the reaction liquid in wet state.

  • Publication number: 20050025690
Abstract: A process for wet pulverizing mesoporous silica particles while a surfactant exists in mesopores, and mesoporous silica particles having an average particle diameter of 1 ?m or less, wherein the volume of mesopores having a diameter of 2 to 50 nm is 0.7 mL/g or more and the geometric standard deviation of a mesopore distribution is 2.0 or less. In the above process, mesoporous silica particles having a particle diameter in a submicron order can be obtained at a high yield without causing the marked collapse of mesopores and can be produced efficiently by using an ordinary pulverizer and safely by using an aqueous medium. The mesoporous silica particles having an average particle diameter of 1 ?m or less are useful as an ink absorbent for ink jet recording paper, low-dielectric film, catalyst support, separating agent, adsorbent and medical carrier for medicines.

  • Patent number: 6677389
Abstract: Provided is a cationized silica dispersion prepared by dispersing dry processed silica and a cationic resin in a polar solvent, wherein a concentration of dissolved silicic acid at 25° C. is 200 ppm or less. This cationized silica dispersion does not substantially form coagulated matters when blended with a binder and therefore can advantageously be used for producing a coating composition such as a coating composition for forming a gas barrier layer, a corrosion preventive coating composition and a coating composition for ink jet recording paper.
