  • Publication number: 20110154711
Abstract: A system for connecting an accessory to a firearm having a muzzle device has a plurality of swinging arms pivotally connected to a body. The swinging arms releasably engage a portion of the muzzle device. The swinging arms are operable for movement between a closed position and open position. The swinging arms have a retention feature sized to receive a rear portion of the muzzle device when the swinging arms are in the closed position. The swinging arms have a locking mechanism that releasably secures them together to prevent movement of the swinging arms to the open position, so that the accessory may be removed or installed when in the open position, and secured when in the closed position. A bore of the body may closely receive at least a portion of the muzzle device.

  • Publication number: 20070012574
Abstract: A process for the fabrication of macroporous silicon from silicon wafers. Preferred embodiments include a two-step-etch process that results in a single, macroporous layer of silicon with pore depths of several microns and relatively uniform equivalent diameters with an operator chosen mean equivalent diameter. The mean diameter determined by the operator is a mean diameter within the range of about 40 nm to about 250 nm and is determined, at least in part, by selection of an applied current density. Uniformity of equivalent pore diameter is greatly improved as compared to prior art porous silicon fabrication techniques. In a first electrochemical anodisation step, a macroporous layer is created that is covered by a shallower combination microporous-mesoporous layer. The wafer is removed and the top surface of the wafer is dissolved under alkaline conditions, producing “pits”.

  • Patent number: 6406011
Abstract: A wire rope vibration isolator employing a wire cable passed in a continuous loop through lateral hollow, cylindrical members, holes, channels or the like, formed therethrough in one or more mounting blocks or entrapment members. The mounting blocks manipulate the wire cable into a geometric shape, such as a coil or helix, that is capable of imparting elastic, spring-like qualities in the wire rope. The geometric shape of the wire rope is maintained and secured by driving dowel pins of sufficient length through the outer surface of the mounting block into the lateral hole contained therein to stake the wire rope into locking contact with the mounting block. The dowel pins are composed of material that has a harder consistency than the material composing the mounting block and wire rope. The ends of the dowel pins not engaging the wire rope are pressed flush to the top surface of the mounting block.

  • Patent number: 6290217
Abstract: A wire rope isolator having a pair of opposed mounting blocks, each having parallel holes formed therein so that the holes in one block are perpendicular to holes in the second block. One block contains two parallel holes passing through the block while the second contains three parallel holes, one of which passes through the block and the remaining holes being blind holes passing inwardly from opposite sides of the block. One end of the rope is secured in one blind hole and the rope is threaded through the block in a clover leaf pattern and the opposite end secured in the other blind hole.

  • Patent number: 5938607
Abstract: An ultrasonic diagnostic imaging system is provided which aid in the diagnosis of patient conditions by providing access from the ultrasound system to a library of reference ultrasonic images. The image library is cataloged in accordance with an image characteristic such as the type of examination, the part of the body or the type of pathology shown in the image, and the images of the library are accessed in accordance with these characteristics. The image library may be remotely located and accessible by a number of ultrasound systems over a network, or it may be located on the ultrasound system itself such as on a system disk drive. In a preferred embodiment reference images are concurrently displayed with patient images to aid in discerning the patient's condition.

  • Patent number: 5897498
Abstract: An ultrasonic diagnostic imaging system is provided which is capable of sending and receiving electronic messages directly from the user interface of the ultrasound system. This capability permits physicians to send messages, reminders, and diagnostic examination instructions directly to ultrasonographers using the system. The system operator is also able to call a physician to an ultrasound exam by means of an electronic message. Electronic messages can also be used to send and receive diagnostic reports and images, to retrieve diagnostic information such as the system presets for a particular type of ultrasonic examination, and to send and receive information from a hospital information system.
