  • Patent number: 11583889
Abstract: An apparatus and method for application of a line of resin along a crease line of a garment for increasing the life of the crease line. The apparatus in one embodiment allows a simultaneous application of lines of resin along respective crease lines of one or more garments to provide an increase in productivity. The apparatus and method allows the operation of a source of a pressurised fluid source used in dispensing of the resin from one or more cartridges held on mounting apparatus to be achieved by an operator's hand which, at the same time, is used to hold gripping portion on the mounting apparatus to move the cartridges and mounting apparatus with respect to the crease line to apply the resin.

  • Publication number: 20210145085
Abstract: An apparatus for use in the application of one or more lines of a fluid resin material onto crease lines of a garment to maintain the crease therein. The resin is typically applied from a cartridge as the cartridge is moved along the crease line. Apparatus is provided to support the garment with the crease line in position along a groove formed in the apparatus to allow the accurate location of the line of fluid resin material. The groove is formed along a face of one or more bodies of the support apparatus and the at least one groove is located at a spaced distance from a surface on which the apparatus is mounted for use and with which the at least one body contacts via one or more contact portions formed as part of, or connected to, the said at least one body. In one embodiment the support apparatus includes at least two bodies which are located at a spaced distance apart and in a substantially parallel relationship.

  • Patent number: 10954626
Abstract: The invention relates to a method to apply a material which assists in the maintenance of a crease (4) or other formation in a garment (2), such as a crease line in the leg of a pair of trousers. The material (15) which is applied is of a form which minimizes the opportunity for the material (15) to be visible at the time of application and/or during subsequent use of the garment (2). The material (15) is applied using a method and apparatus (100) in which the spacing of the apparatus nib (14) from which the material (15) is applied, from the garment (2) and/or contact of the nib (14) with the garment (2) is controlled by support members (112, 114) such that the material (15) is applied onto the garment (2) and adheres thereto in a manner in which the desired effect of the material (15) is achieved without the material subsequently causing discolouration and/or passing through the garment (2).

  • Publication number: 20210007430
Abstract: Apparatus and method for the application of a ribbon of fluid material along one or more garment crease lines by relative movement between one or more cartridges which include a reservoir in which the fluid material is provided, and the garment, the one or more cartridges including a dispensing aperture in connection with the reservoir and through which the fluid material is dispensed. Movement means are provided in the one or more cartridges to encourage the fluid material in the cartridge to move towards the dispensing aperture and a pressurised fluid supply is connected to the one or more cartridges to selectively provide pressurised fluid to the movement means and hand operated user actuable control means are provided to allow the selective provision of the pressurised fluid. The provision of hand operation of the user actuable control means allows the apparatus to be significantly more compact.

  • Publication number: 20100224218
Abstract: A system for providing cleaning apparatus, said system comprising providing a user accessible order unit via which options for the provision of the cleaning apparatus and/or cleaning product for use therewith are made available to a customer. The customer can select the cleaning apparatus option required and select a time and date and location at which said cleaning apparatus is required and the data for this is transmitted from the order unit to a remote processing hub. The cleaning apparatus which is required is identified and a delivery schedule established so as to allow the cleaning apparatus to be delivered at the selected date and time at the cleaning location.

  • Patent number: 6929161
Abstract: The invention provides a cartridge for dispensing fluent materials into creases of garments to render them more permanent. The cartridge comprises a plastic elongated body having an integral tongue projecting laterally of the body at one end and through which the fluent composition is dispensed by passing a piston along the inside of the body. The tongue is a narrow member and is aligned with integral laterally projecting fins which fit into the crease of a garment to be rendered permanent. The tongue has a narrow rectangular bore into which fits a nozzle also having a narrow rectangular bore. The tongue bore and the nozzle bore are aligned with the fins, so as to provide maximum exactness in alignment of the body, crease and ribbon of composition which is dispensed from the nozzle. The design maximizes application efficiency by ensuring registry with the crease and nozzle.

  • Patent number: 4619382
Abstract: The invention provides a cartridge for use in dispensing a crease setting composition into a temporary crease of a garment in order to make that crease permanent. The cartridge is connected to a mechanism which by movement of the cartridge and mechanism relative to the crease causes the dispensing of the composition from a nozzle at the end of the cartridge. The end of the cartridge is of reinforced construction in order to support the nozzle in a firm and effective manner. The nozzle is normally in the form of a tube which fits in a bore in end and the bore intersects the end of a cavity inside the cartridge which is conical in shape so as to give a small area of intersection.
