  • Publication number: 20200306775
Abstract: The present foam dispensing unit comprises a manifold defining a first channel and a second channel. The first channel defines an input for receiving a first liquid and an output for directing the first liquid into a mixing nozzle. The second channel defines an input for receiving a second liquid, and an output for directing the second liquid into the mixing nozzle. The foam dispensing unit further comprises a first flow adjustment mechanism positioned along the first channel for controlling a flow of the first liquid at the output of the first channel, and a second flow adjustment mechanism positioned along the second channel for controlling a flow of the second liquid at the output of the second channel.

  • Publication number: 20110278183
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a packaging system for producing a foam-in bag and method of mixing foam for the packaging of articles for shipment and storage, and in particular, to an improved, flexible, multilayered packaging system with a vented, deformable outer bag and an inner confinement structure made of paperboard box or a plastic bag with reclosable opening for optimal mixing and controlled release of the foam using preferential paths, score lines, weakness points, and/or obstacles to flow. In addition, the precursor fluids are placed in individually sealed pouches with calibrated and aptly positioned frangible seals to facilitate mixing after rupture inside of the inner confinement structure. In another embodiment, one of the precursor fluids is placed directly in the inner confinement structure, and in yet another embodiment, both sealed pouches are adhesively joined to the inner confinement structure.

  • Patent number: 7273142
Abstract: A system for conveying a string of packaging cushions includes a machine capable of manufacturing the string and a conveyor adapted to transport the string. The conveyor has an inlet end to receive the string and an outlet end to deliver the string of packaging cushions. The inlet end of the conveyor is higher than the cushion outlet elevation of the machine. At least one pair of rolls are adapted to lift the string of packaging cushions from the machine through the nip of the rolls to the conveyor inlet elevation.

  • Patent number: 5309110
Abstract: An apparatus for analyzing the dielectric properties of a sample. A thin planar sample having a hole therein is positioned over two bottom electrodes having the hole over one of the bottom electrodes. An oscillator provides a first signal to one of the bottom electrodes and a second signal 180.degree. out of phase with the first signal to the second bottom electrode. A differential signal is obtained on the top electrode representative of the dielectric properties of the sample with the elimination of edge effects. A phase sensitive demodulator synchronized with the oscillator extracts the two components of the conductance and susceptance of the sample. A position sensor measures the thickness of the sample and is used to calculate the dielectric constant of the sample. Thereby, an accurate measurement of the dielectric properties of the sample is obtained without a complicated structure in order to eliminate edge effects.

  • Patent number: 4976152
Abstract: A sample holder for use with a bending measuring system. A probe shaft is disposed in an elongated tube. A probe tip is removeably mounted at one end of the probe shaft. The other end of the probe shaft is adapted to be fixed to the bending measuring system. A double knife edge platform supports a sample at each end and the probe tip contacts the sample at its center. Proper alignment between the sample and probe tip is obtained by having means which permit radial adjustment of the platform and rotation of the probe shaft about its central axis.
