    Abstract: In a customer's order processing apparatus and method, the CPU stores setting data for every article, inputs and stores order data of ordered articles, predicts quantities of the ordered articles in response to a command signal, and displays the quantities every the articles in accordance with the setting data in response to the command signal, so that at the slow time zone, each set of orders are displayed independently in order of time and at the peak time zone, the target number of articles to be prepared are displayed. The command signal for effecting the peak time condition display is generated according to the present time and the peak time zone start time and end time which were inputted or stored. Moreover, the peak time zone start time and end time may be detected according to the number of customers. Moreover, the command signal may be further generated in response to a key switch or a rotary switch. The peak time zone data may be switched between weekdays and holidays.

    Abstract: This invention is intended to instruct a kitchen of orders taken at random in sequence of customers, and to rearrange the orders in order to cook in sequence of the customers. A piece of commodity name information 21, a piece of unit price information 22, and a piece of position number information 23 are set into a commodity-setting table in an electronic cash register. When the order is taken in advance, a desired quantity of a corresponding commodity on an order form is marked, and then the order form is read by means of a mark reader that is connected to the register. As an alternative, when the order is taken in advance, an either slip or receipt containing an either customer number or receipt number is handed to each customer so that the customer number or receipt number may be entered into the register at an order window.

    Abstract: Weight data of articles for sale is stored and a total weight is calculated every order. Measured weight of the prepared articles in a package is compared with the calculated total weight. If the measured weight substantially disagrees with the calculated total weight, error information is provided to the operator to correctly package the articles. Comparison may be effected every order number. An addition flag may be further stored with weight data every article to indicate that the article is a target of weight measuring. A non-addition key indicating that the corresponding article is not packaged may be further provided. When the non-addition key is depressed, the weight of the corresponding article is not included in the total weight. The total weight may be printed on the receipt, so that the operator can compare the printed total weight with the measured weight. The total weight may be printed with bar codes. A balance has a bar code reader for comparison.

    Abstract: A printer driving apparatus for a line printer comprises: a measuring circuit to measure the number of print dots; and a driving circuit which can change drive timings of dots of a print head in correspondence to a print ratio in each print cycle. When the number of print dots is small, an interval between strobes is narrowed. When it is large, an interval between strobes is widened. Thus, a high-speed printing can be performed in the case of using the power source of the same capacity. When a high-speed printing is not required, the capacity of the power source can be reduced.

    Abstract: A method of controlling data sending and receiving operations between two microprocessors, in which a second controlled-side microprocessor receives a selected signal which is one of a data sending request signal and a data receiving request signal from a first controlling-side microprocessor and the second microprocessor also receives a resultant select signal produced by a logical OR operation on both request signals and determines if the selected signal indicates a "receiving request" or a "sending request" at the same time that it responds to the resultant select signal, thereby executing the requested operation. Hence, even if the second microprocessor does not receive the resultant select signal and the sending/receiving signal at the same time, the second microprocessor can determine simultaneously with the receipt of the resultant select signal if it should send or receive the data, resulting in high-speed data processing.
