  • Patent number: 11227126
Abstract: In an approach to generating a story topic, one or more computer processors detect biometric data associated with one or more users, where the users are interacting with at least one social media content. The one or more computer processors collect the at least one social media content. The one or more computer processors analyze the biometric data and the at least one social media content. The one or more computer processors determine whether a popularity of the social media content meets a predetermined threshold. The one or more computer processors extract one or more keywords and one or more concepts from the social media content. Based on the extracted one or more keywords and one or more concepts The one or more computer processors generate one or more story topics. The one or more computer processors generate a report that includes the one or more story topics.

  • Patent number: 9652742
Abstract: In various embodiments, an open innovation event is conducted with more than one (e.g., two, three, four, or more) rule regimes. During event registration, a rule choice module is used to facilitate selection by participants of a desired rule regime from a choice of possible rule regimes. An assignment module assigns participants to groups based at least in part on their rule regime selection. A problem distribution module electronically distributes to participants a problem to be solved during the open innovation event. An event operations module conducts the event with one rule regime applying to one group and a different rule regime applying to another group, so that each of two participant groups are subject to different rule regimes, with the different rule regimes selected from the choice of possible rule regimes. A solution submission module receives solutions from submitters.

  • Patent number: 6697819
Abstract: Providing economical interconnectivity between application programs and database content is obviated by the described database management system interface. The system of the invention includes at least one database server that serves disparate database clients through an object-oriented interface. This object-oriented interface has classes including a database access class and methods within the database access class to implement the interface, define other methods, and create and manage database connections. There is at least one object within the database access class that retrieves database properties, and creates an object from the contained properties needed to establish a connection to the database. The class also contains a connection manager method to instantiate the interface, create a connection to the database, and thereafter call methods within the database access class to access database content, execute database queries on the database content, and disconnect from database content.
