  • Patent number: 10519124
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods for synthesizing 1,2,5,6-hexanetetrol (HTO), 1,6 hexanediol (HDO) and other reduced polyols from C5 and C6 sugar alcohols or R glycosides. The methods include contacting the sugar alcohol or R-glycoside with a copper catalyst, most desirably a Raney copper catalyst with hydrogen for a time, temperature and pressure sufficient to form reduced polyols having 2 to 3 fewer hydoxy groups than the starting material. When the starting compound is a C6 sugar alcohol such as sorbitol or R-glycoside of a C6 sugar such as methyl glucoside, the predominant product is HTO. The same catalyst can be used to further reduce the HTO to HDO.

  • Patent number: 10379818
Abstract: Customizations, made at various levels in the customization channel, are saved as separate sets of customization deltas that are applied to a base computing system in order to generate a given solution. In a multi-tenant environment, groups of tenants access different solutions or customization deltas. The tenants are automatically grouped, based upon the solution or customization deltas that they access, and the deltas for those customizations are applied to the base system at runtime, for each group.

  • Publication number: 20190230007
Abstract: Accelerating monitoring of network traffic by: configuring a first network chip of a non-accelerated line card with a VOQ associated with an internal interface that is connected to a second network chip of a first accelerated line card; receiving, at the first network chip, a data unit; selecting, by the first network chip, the data unit based on a traffic sampling rate; adding information identifying the data unit as having been selected for sampling to obtain a selected data unit; and sending the selected data unit from the first network chip to the second network chip using the VOQ and the internal interface. The second network chip identifies the selected data unit and, based on the identification, appends a sampling header to the data unit to obtain a sampled data unit, and transmits the sampled data unit to the sampling engine of the first accelerated line card.

  • Publication number: 20190149475
Abstract: As an example, a node includes a first link to connect a first network and a second link to connect to a second network. A virtual interface coupled between the first link and the second link and residing in a communications path for data traffic between the first network and the second network. An instance of a dynamic traffic controller that controls the virtual interface to apply receive streamlining to data packets received from the first network and provide streamlined data packets to the second network via the second link based on the receive streamlining. The receive streamlining establishes a priority for receiving the data packets from the first network for sending the received data packets based on prioritization rules and controls congestion of the data traffic received from the first network by adjusting a rate limit of the virtual interface for the data traffic received from the first network based on a measure of bandwidth for the first network.
