  • Publication number: 20200279194
Abstract: The disclosed computer-implemented method may include providing and making use of uncertain ETA information. Inaccurate ETA information may result in ride cancellations, poor experience on the part of transportation requestors and providers, and reduced transportation network efficiency. Errors in ETA estimates may be introduced in various ways, including inaccurate starting location data for providers, variable delays in provider navigation readiness, providers failing to react in time to take expected routes to newly assigned destinations, and driving conditions en route. By estimating both the likelihood various scenarios that impact ETA and the impact of these scenarios on arrival time, the method may provide information about the uncertainty of ETA information. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10732635
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a sequence of location points and motion data associated with a mobile computing device. The method further includes generating, based on the motion data, a motion-data trace of a path and calculating, for each location point, a distance between the location point and a point on the motion-data trace of the path. The method further includes determining that the distance associated with at least one location point exceeds a threshold distance. The method further includes generating an estimated path traveled by the mobile computing device using (1) the point on the motion-data trace of the path used for calculating the distance associated with each of the at least one location point and (2) the received location point for each of the sequence of location points whose associated distance is at or within the threshold distance.

  • Publication number: 20200125112
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to training and using a model for identifying actions of objects. For instance, LIDAR sensor data frames including an object bounding box corresponding to an object as well as an action label for the bounding box may be received. Each sensor frame is associated with a timestamp and is sequenced with respect to other sensor frames. Each given sensor data frame may be projected into a camera image of the object based on the timestamp associated with the given sensor data frame in order to provide fused data. The model may be trained using the fused data such that the model is configured to, in response to receiving fused data, the model outputs an action label for each object bounding box of the fused data. This output may then be used to control a vehicle in an autonomous driving mode.

  • Publication number: 20200109952
Abstract: This disclosure covers methods, non-transitory computer readable media, and systems that generate route tiles reflecting both GPS locations and map-matched locations for regions along a route traveled by a client device associated with a transportation vehicle. For example, in some implementations, the disclosed systems use an artificial neural network to analyze the route tiles and determine route-accuracy metrics indicating GPS locations or map-matched locations for particular regions along the route. The disclosed systems can then use the route-accuracy metrics to facilitate transport of requestors by, for example, determining a distance of the route or a location of a client device associated with a transportation vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20200023137
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a dose detection system for use in combination with a medication delivery device. In one aspect, the system includes a module keyed to the device and including a sensor operable to detect the relative angular position of a sensed element attached to the medication delivery device. The system determines the type of medication contained by the device, and/or the type of device, based on the detected angular position of the sensed element. In another aspect, the dose detection system is used in combination with a medication delivery device including a dose setting member which rotates relative to an actuator during dose delivery. The dose detection system includes a sensor and is operable to detect the relative angular positions of a sensed element attached to the dose setting member during dose delivery and to determine the amount of dose delivered. Related methods are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20190369194
Abstract: A method for obtaining magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) echo-planar image (EPI) data, including providing a homogeneous, static background field; providing a gradient field to select a slice of an object for imaging; applying Radio-frequency (RF) pulses to excite magnetic resonance in the selected slice; and measuring a radio frequency signal emitted by the selected slice containing image data. The RF pulses are repeatedly applied separated by a time period shorter than a recovery time of static material in the selected slice such that the static material remains in a state of magnetic saturation, while dynamic material arriving within the slice since a previous RF pulse is not magnetically saturated.
