  • Patent number: 7259370
Abstract: A mixing chamber probe adaptor comprising a chamber connector and a probe connector is provided. The mixing chamber probe adaptor imparts a fixed spatial joining of a chamber to a probe and allows a mixing chamber to be received by the chamber connector. In some embodiments, the mixing chamber probe adaptor will be adapted to connect to a spring-loaded probe and receive a micro mixing tee. In other embodiments, the mixing chamber probe adaptor may be used with other types of chambers and probes.

  • Publication number: 20020098115
Abstract: A locator bed has nests where sample well containing plates are held and positioned for accessing by probes moved by an X-Y-Z positioning system. Each nest includes stop posts at two sides of a rectangular base of a plate, and biasing posts at the opposed two sides. The stop posts and the biasing posts have tapered upper guide portions for guiding a descending plate into position and cylindrical lower portions receiving the base of the plate in a seated position. The stop posts are located on the surface of the locator bed by conical seat portions. The biasing posts are placed over studs fastened to the bed surface, and hoop springs are captured between the studs and the biasing posts.

  • Patent number: 5988236
Abstract: A multiple probe liquid handler includes a syringe pump assembly with multiple syringe pumps communicating with the probes. A carriage movable with respect to a fixed support base carries syringe pump pistons moving within syringe pump cylinders secured to the base. A drive system including a single drive motor has a single drive point connection to the carriage for moving the carriage and operating the syringe pumps in order to draw fluid into or discharge fluid from the multiple probes. A linear motion support assembly includes spaced rails attached to the support base and slides attached to the carriage and riding along the rails. The assembly includes two parallel rails and three slides, one riding along one rail and two riding along the other rail, providing an inexpensive yet imbalance tolerant three point support.
