    Abstract: An optical signal amplifier using a praseodymium doped fiber is described. The optical signal amplifier includes a signal laser, a first optical isolator, a second optical isolator a pump laser, a wave division multiplexer, a silica based glass optical fiber, a second optical isolator, an optical power meter, and an optical spectrum analyzer (OSA). The signal laser generates a signal laser beam. The pump laser generates a pumped laser beam. The wave division multiplexer combines the signal laser beam and the pumped laser beam and generates a combined laser beam. The silica based glass optical fiber has a preferred concentration of praseodymium ions of about 50×1024 ions/m3 and a length of about 5.7 m. The silica based glass optical fiber receives the combined laser beam, amplifies photons in the combined laser beam, and generates an amplified laser beam.

    Abstract: A system controls access to data for customer of a multi-tenant software as a service (SaaS) system. A multi-tenant SaaS system cloud includes a metadata store. A customer-controlled storage realm includes a customer-controlled key management system (KMS) and a data store for storing encrypted customer data objects. An agent at a user endpoint identifies customer data for storage in the customer data store, transmits metadata and telemetry information related to the customer data to a SaaS application interface (API), and provides a storage reference for a SaaS metadata store. The agent is pre-configured with credentials from the KMS for storing customer data objects in the data store. The customer-controlled storage realm is not in direct communication with the SaaS system cloud.

    Abstract: An example method for managing digital rights management (DRM) protected content sharing in a networked secure collaborative computer data exchange environment includes establishing, by a secure exchange facility and managed by an intermediate organizational entity, a procedure that allows a user from a first entity to share access to computer data content with a user from a second entity based on indicated access rights. The method includes transforming the computer data content into DRM protected content, utilizing a DRM engine provided by a separate entity. The method includes granting access to the content to the second user, providing permissioned control to entities utilizing a number of data storage nodes, and managing secure data exchange of the content and metadata, without the secure exchange facility having access to the content. The method includes operations to support content services including data transformation, filtering, analytics, and searching tools for the content.
